THe Weapon tech levels are all set at 0 already so that they do not have to be changed if the tech level is not required.

Or do you mean setting it back to one tech level for all weapons?

If anyone is interested, I have KDLadages great Starmada X Shipyard working with OpenOffice 2.0.

I have made a few minor changes.
Individual Weapon type tech levels.
Individual Equipment tech levels.
Added Text sheet.
Added Interdictor field.

If anyone wishes to give them a try let me know.

I was thinking of Interdictor ships being mostly generator with engines, a self defence flight and a few close in self defence weapons.
Ships that need defending.

It would be possible to make Interdictor Fields 10% SU as in the Compendium and then apply Tech Levels to it.

Starmada Compendium gives Interdictor Field a SU cost of 10%, but I would think that given the size of the generators to ship mass (thinking of Star Wars) 40% might be nearer the mark.

Any other thought on this so that it can be added to the shipyard spreadsheet?

Uncle_Joe,
OK, I think that I have figured the solution with the Shockwave and Stutterdrive.
This should work with Excel as well as OpenOffice.
On the Template sheet:-
1) Merge cells Y44 with Z44, AA44 with AB44, Y54 with Z54 and AA54 with AB54.
2) Enter in Cell Y44    "ESU"
    Enter in Cell AA44   "=+$AR$6"
    Enter in Cell Y54       "HS(E+1)"
    Enter in Cell AA54    "=+$AM$5*($AM$6+1)*$AM$7"
(without the ")
3) Using Find & Replace,
Find all  $Y$39:$AB$43   Replace with   $Y$39:$AB$44
Find all  $Y$46:$AB$53   Replace with   $Y$46:$AB$54

That should do it. lol

nimrodd
Expendable choice is on the weapon "Special" drop down list.

rory
I have managed to get most of it sorted for Open Office 2, just waiting for a reply from KDLadage, about a couple of entries on the tables sheet which do not agree with the template sheet for Shockwave and Stutterdrive.
WarpFlame has tested it. OK so far (just a few special equipment to sort out).

WarpFlame,
I'm no expert but I found this solution.
On the Tables sheet, Unprotect the sheet in Tools/Protect Document/Sheet as you would on the Nations sheet.

Put B1 in Name Box and go to Format/Column/Width. Tick Default Value.
You should now be able to see Column B

Do the same for Column C

In the To Hit array, In Column B delete the + signs.
The To Hit Column on the Nations sheet just had the number, no +.
This should work now.

Sorry WarpFlame, I thought that you were having trouble getting the dropdown choices in the cells.

See what you mean now. Comes up Error:value not available.

I wonder if the calculations are done in lines 50-132, which are not "seeable". Likewise Cols.A-C in the Tables sheet. It would seem that the missing values are looked for there.

This is one for the experts to sort out.

I use Open Office 2.0

The "sheet Protect" can stop the drop down menu working properly, so can not allowing the macros when opening the sheet.

Try going to "Tools/Protect Document/Sheet" on the first (Nation) sheet. if there is a tick against "sheet" select it to remove the protection.

I had to do this when I first tried using this spreadsheet.

Could be a font problem.
The fonts Impact and Wingdings are needed.
Wingdings for the boxes.

I have noticed a problem with the latest spreadsheets (V.2.61) that I get a value error when putting in the Range and to hit figures.

Excel not needed.

I use Open Office for sxca spreadsheets.
It can open some other spreadsheets also.
Best thing is that it is free.

Check out www.OpenOffice.org

I am using version 1.1.4 but I believe that there is now version 2.0
This prog is sometimes included on DVD versions of computer shopping mags.
Hope this helps.
