I have decided to make some German ships by converting some Brigade Models (and maybe some scratch building) and have just discovered that that, unlike the previous two IS books, Merchat Wars does not have length and mass. I can live without mass, but my project would greatly benefit by length data!
The magazine was Challenge, the issue I don't know.

Here is my take on making a German Barbarossa/Machtigsten.
Start with Brigade's Ersatz Monarch. Put one primary turret aside, you don't need it. place the other primary turret from the center midline on the front raised portion. Place secondary turrets on midline. make 10 more secondary turrets from green stuff, or convince Tony at Brigade to sell you 10 more, arrange them accordingly. If desired, add two more side blisters with green stuff if desired. Replace fins/sails with russian ones (or make your own). This makes a pretty good representation of the Barbarossa.
One could also start with the Janos Hunyadi. I think the hull size is a bit too small, but it might be useful to differentiate the Machtigsten from the larger hulled Barbarrosa. You would only neeh 6 extra secondary turrets (and the russian fins),
If Tony packaged and price this special I for one would buy several.
