I just ordered the game last night and am anxiously awaiting the book.

I've been kicking around a backround for the last couple of days to use with the system to tie in my different miniature lines, and I got to thinking...

...keep in mind I haven't read your background, so forgive me if I sound like I don't have a clue...

Damian, would you be averse to the idea of a new background.  Something akin to Star Wars in the sense that a large portion of a galaxy has been having interstellar travel for tens of thousands of years with thousands of worlds having advanced sentient life.  A loose backdrop with some fixed organizations and races, but with large amounts of room to adapt.

The kicker would be that players would submit their armies w/ well defined backgrounds to the website.  The forum members would vote on whether it remains a minor race or a fixed race as a member of one of the major interstellar organizations.  Perhaps you guys could even typeset the winning entries.  Heck, it could even end up as a supplement that you didn't even have to write!  The winners could get a free copy - maybe.  Also, you could have the storyline advance by having people do battles with the armies and submitting the results.

I started writing some of this down today, and I could probably have a rough background and time line completed by Monday.  I just thought it would be fun for the players to have a hand in some cool, mutually created background.

What do you think?

Well, it sounds like the infiltrate rules will do nicely for that I suppose.  However, I am quite fond of the tunnelling rules in Starship Troopers.  But I have to say, I was just so impressed with the core rules of this game that I just can't resist.  I'll be purchasing it this weekend from the MJ12 estore.   I'm just really getting tired of learning new systems every time some cool models come out.  This looks like the ultimate solution.

Thanks

I am very interested in this game.  After a quick skim through the basic rules, I have to say that I'm pretty impressed.  However, one thing I'd like to know is:

Are there any special movement types that you can apply to vehicles and troops?  VTOL, Hovering, and especially underground movement.  I'd like to be able to convert my Starship Trooper models to this game as well. I would appreciate any help.  This will definitely aid in my decision to purchase.
