I'm fully expecting the parcel be intercepted and detained for ransom by Subterranean Mole People or whathaveyou tongue

Dan has them!

I should have the rules in the UK in the next week or so!

I stuck the parcel in the post to Dan last Saturday, hopefully he will have it around this weekend or early next week.

I assume he has sorted out the packaging (well I guess it is fairly simple for mail order anyway).

I should have a stock of the rulebooks in the UK shortly as well.

Well, as you guys have noticed, the figures have not arrived yet.

Basically, the guy who does my casting has been ill for several weeks, I was trying to contact him last week, to chase them up, only to find he was away on holiday. I only found out he was ill while trying to contact him last week.  :?

Finally got hold of him yesterday, and he explained that the holiday was a part of his recuperation. He is now back to work and catching up on delayed work.
Hopefully they will be cast on Monday of next week. I will collect them as sonn as they are done and then ship them straight to Dan.  big_smile

I can't give an exact date yet, but they are on the way!  :?

I can only apologise to you guys for the delays and and say that I am trying to get them shiopped as soon as possible!

20 days and counting...

I guess I should mention that the April 24 date is a guess... I'm hoping that Iron Mammoth can get stock to us by then...

If not, very soon afterwards! smile

Doing the best I can, I will chase up my caster tonight and see how he is doing.

As soon as they are shipped I will let you know.

(at this point 24 April seems reasonable!)

I assume we'll be able to get them from you direct at around the same time as well? It's sorta senseless to order UK produce from US to Finland....

I wont be selling direct to the public myself, I prefer to concentrate on the sculpting these days. I am looking for a retailer or two in the UK to carry them, but I have not finalised that yet. I may organise a special deal for members of the SFSFW, where I will sell directly to them, but that is my only plan for direct sales at the moment.

You will need to order direct from MJ12 at the moment.

tnjrp wrote:

Hmm, Demian said previously that they are 30mm foot to head and 28mm foot to eye IIRC :?.

Ooops, yep you are quite right, I really don't know what I was think of when I wrote that!

Anyhow, a comparison shot is always good. GW figs are pretty much a must and VOID minis are good choice as well (being less chunky than GW but still "true 28mm" scale). A WARMACHINE and/or Mongoose SST fig would also be good, if the ATs are 30mm scale.

I can probably do the Warmachine figure as I have not put mine on Ebay yet. I don't have any SST (or indeed know of anyone with any SST figures), it was just one system too many for me, although I admit it looks great fun. I may get some Skinnies as they are very cute, but I can't say when that will happen!

Suggestions I spotted over at The Miniatures Page:

Maybe put them next to other 25/28mm figs so we have an idea of how they stack up, scale-wise?

See what I can do, should be able to do one with a GW figure of some sort. I also have some of the Kryomek figures and a few Void/Urban War figures that I can put in.

Basically the figures are 30mm "foot to eye". This is the scale that Demian and I settled on as being the new 28mm (which of course is the new 25mm). The figures are a tight 30mm and will not creep. There may be some variation, after all they are not clone troopers but generally they will be at 30mm height.

I have photos of the painted figures now, as soon as I get them on my site I will post a link here.

As for the pose ideas. I will do more shooting poses in the next batch and also try to do some of the suggested "swat" style poses.

The first order from MJ12 for the figures is with the caster now. So I would hope to get them shipped over in the next fortnight or so!

btw, I will be stocking the Defiance rules for those that might be on this side of the pond (i.e. in the UK)!

Thanks

Hey, you know what I'm really liking with these? The poses. Lots of poses. If some squads have or will have the SWAT aiming/advancing pose that would also make my day. But seriously, these are looking really nice and will make lovely dynamic units on the table. Remember how some of the Legions of Steel stuff had ONE nice sculpt, and that was all? This is much more varied.

Big thumbs up to the sculptor again, especially for the guy at the front:

Thanks, glad you like them!

If you can give me an example of the "SWAT pose" you are refering to, I will try to work it in to the next batch!

I am not familiar with the Legion of Steel range, but will avoid giving future figure "ape" arms.
I am working up the initial Meraxillian figure at the moment, I would hope to have a WIP photo worth showing sometime soon.

As for release dates on the first batch, I will be signing the contract with Daniel (MJ12) tonight (well confirming the contract terms via email to be exact) and then as soon as he places the first order for the figures the production casting will begin!

Hi all, sorry I have not responded to this thread before, I only just spotted it!

Thanks for understanding my reasons for backing off a bit on the figures manufacture side of things. smile

I am indeed going to concentrate on freelance scultping for the time being.

However, on the subject of Defiance do not give up all hope of the figures turning up. I have had the production moulds produced and will be collecting the first castings sometime this week (maybe the weekend, depending on schedules etc.). big_smile

As soon as I have some I will post samples to Demian!

As for what happens then, well it is all in the air. I still really like Defiance and want to produce the figures for it. I certainly wont be selling them direct to the public myself, but there are several option open that Demain and I are discussing. Nothing can be confirmed until Demian has product in his hands, obviously!

I may carry on producing the figures here in the UK and ship them to the US. I will only consider this if I can find a company in the UK who would like to sell them over here.

There are other options, but I can't go into too many details at the moment.

I can assure you that, one way or another, the figures will be available in the very near future!

Thanks
David

Should have the first production figures by the weekend!

Not sure how we are going to sell them yet, but will be sending samples to Demian as soon as I have them.

Demain I will email you as soon as post the samples!

Hi Demian,

I will be sending pictures of all 6 greens in a day or two.

They are away getting mastered and as soon as I get them back I will send you some. Will send more once the production mould is done.

Cheers,
