Nobody probably cares, but this is a subject close to my heart, so here goes.
Blue Stilton - the king of cheeses and the finest thing to eat with a glass of brandy or a pint of Old Peculier. A few years back, the parent company closed down the Hartington creamery where the best stilton was made. Sure, you could still get Long Clawson cheese or whatever, but it just wasn't in the same league. And now, wonder of wonders, someone is making blue stilton in the Hartington style.
And it is good!
That helps a load, thanks. The myshipbuilder seems to handle everything I need, and in a pretty intuitive fashion. Thanks again for the pointer.
Hi,
Looking through the files section and nosing around a couple of the spreadhseets there; is there a pretty straightforward spreadsheet that will enable me to build Klingon & Romulan Armada ships (i.e. WITH faceted shields) and then output a record sheet displaying everything I need to play (again, with faceted shields laid out) for my RPG players?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Mike
@ cricket - PM sent.
@ OldnGrey - I assume that's in one of the zip files? I'll go back and have a look.
Thanks guys.
Sorry, Shipyard? Am I missing something? All I have is an Excel sheet I downloaded from the main MJ12 site.
I confess I'm disappointed at the lack of ship design rules in Klingon Armada. I bought the rules 'blind', not being able to read through them in my usual games shop. I decided to buy the game after reading the blurb on the MJ12 site which includes the phrase "...comprehensive starship construction system lets you build your own designs to test against the best the Federation and Romulans have to offer." I took this to mean I could design ships with these rules. While it does state later that the Admiralty Edition is recommended, it doesn't make it clear that these rules are in that volume. In other words, if you do want to design ships, the Amiralty Edition is essential, not recommended. That wording really is a shame.
Hi,
I've just bought KA and really like the look of it (I've not played yet), but probably unlike most people here, I've bought the rules to use as a ship-to-ship combat system in a Prime Directive roleplaying campaign. One of the things which drew me to using this system over others (such as the old FASA game) was the option to design a 'player character' ship which would be the focus of the campaign and then obviously tailor the opposition to give the players an achievable challenge.
Going through KA (I have Romulan Armada on order as I write this) I can't really see ship design rules (and having downloaded the shipbuilder spreadsheet from the main site I confess I'm confused by that, despite being an Excel junkie!!). Is there a ship design primer or kickstart anywhere, or have I gone the wrong route by buying KA and RA rather than the Admiralty Edition?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Best (and Happy New Year!),
Mike
