    I was trying to find a way to give the Faceted Shields of an existing ship variable KEB values without changing it's Combat Rating. I do not think that this would be a popular option as it slightly slows game play to note on the Data Card whether you are maximizing the Kinetic, Energy, or Ballistic Rating of a given Facet (i.e: F:K, FP: E, FS: B, AP: E, AS: B, A: K). If you counted Kinetic as the default mode, then it would be only be necessary to note whether a given Facet had been changed to Energy or Ballistic.

      As to giving a ship Faceted Shields with Fixed KEB Ratings, I think using a combination of existing Starmada AE rules for Faceted Shields and those given for KEB shields in the VBAM/Starmada books would accomodate that easily enough. It would, unfortunately, make for a cluttered looking Data Card.

        As you will have noticed, I edited my original posting to make my meaning clearer.

                              I am curious as to where the Carrier rating for the Correllian Corvette has come from.

                              It doesn't carry fighters in the films (other than Obi-wan's that it takes into what is probably a general purpose shuttle bay) and the only ones in the Expanded Universe novels that carry fighters are notes as being fairly major conversions.

                              Also, it appears that some shots from the Star Destroyer at the start of Episode IV are impacting on shields so shouldn't this have an Aft facet of 1 (Shields 6) to represent this?

                                It has two flights of Lambda class shuttles. This value is too high, but Starmada represents full flights better than it does fractional flights. I could calculate the Capacity for a Flight that has only two Shuttles, but doing so for every fractional value of a flight seems tedious.Giving the corvette a few more boarding parties seems to do little harm to the idea that it is a freighter being used as a warship.

                                    You are surely right, but the Babylon 5 Wars SCS that I was converting is very short on shields. They will plainly not go all the way around. If you like, you could put the Faceted Shield that is in the Forward (G) Arc into the Rear (L) Arc. After all, Faceted Shields are only supposed to have fixed values  during Tactical Combat. I see no reason why they could not be adjusted between Strategic Turns.

                                    My choice of Technical Level for these conversions makes it impossible for me to keep a reasonable approximation of the full complement of weapons, give the ship twice the normal range in Hyperspace, and give the ship Atmospheric Capability (at least it does with the House Rules that I am using for these conversions. Someone with more liberal House Rules, or who chooses a much higher Technical Level, may succeed in doing so). This is the Version with full weapons and Range: 2 Hyperdrive.

                                                                                            I am giving two versions of this ship. My choice of Tech Level makes it impossible to get both the quadruple Interdiction Field generators and the required Level of Shields into the same ship.

                                                                                              I had to go back to the Starmada Compedium to find the rules for Interdiction Fields and found them slightly unsatisfactory. Therefore, I will modify them a bit (Interdictors in this background have a limited Range) and count them as House Rules for this conversion.

                                                                                                An Interdictor Field Imposes a dice roll cap on rolls for using a Hyperdrive. The dice roll cap is treated as a result of zero for purposes of the cumulative roll needed to use a Hyperdrive (though a roll of double 6 still stalls the Hyperdrive.
