Brakiri Syndicracy – Pri-Wakat Military Concepts & Solutions

Pri-Wakat prides itself on producing the best ground troops and the ships to deliver them.  While their ships are only lightly armed they have some of the best armour and shields of any Brakiri vessels.

While Pri-Wakat supplied troops and ships to the war against the Vorlons and the Shadows, the lack of ground combat (mainly due to the other sides destroying planets rather than occupying them) left them on the side-lines.  While they were not happy about this Pri-Wakat recognises that its strength is not in fleet combat.

Tokrana Orbital Satellite (In Service 2216)
A basic defensive weapon system.  They never received the graviton pulsar upgrade.

Ikorta Light Assault Cruiser (In Service 2198)
While the Ikorta carries assault shuttles it is also capable of landing on a planet directly to quickly off-load troops and provide fire support.  As with most vessels it replaces the gravitic bolts with graviton pulsars in 2250.

Drikorta Power Cruiser (In Service 2230)
This Ikorta variant was developed during the Dilgar War to provide additional anti-fighter capability – something that was lacking in most Brakiri fleets.  By removing other systems there is sufficient spare power to overload the gravitic bolts so they lose the non-piercing trait to make them more effective.  The design was later supplanted by the Halik.

Brakiri Syndicracy – Im-Rehsa Technologies

Im-Rehsa may not have the largest fleet but it is the most advanced.  Most of the hulls are constructed by Ak-Habil or Ly-Nakir but then fitted out with advanced, or experimental, equipment.  Gradually most of the new technology is sold to the other corporations for a massive profit.

As a small fleet made up largely of proto-types, Im-Rehsa didn't provide ships to fight the Vorlons and Shadows.


Shakara Scout Cruiser (In Service 2251)
In-Rehsa's entry into the electronic warfare vessel category was an attempt to improve on the ships fielded by other corporations.  While it features some advanced technology, that keeps production to a minimum, it is underarmed.

All the ships are done with Myshipbuilder 6.1b.

Due to the number of different weapon system, and small craft to some extent, I have a template per race which I then rename for each ship I create.  I therefore have about 50 separate files for the Earth Alliance rather than one file with 50 sheets in it.

I can try to zip them up and send them to you if you want.

Technomage Pinnace (InService 1393)

The technomages are a group who use advanced technology disguised as magic.  They uase small ships, not much bigger than some fighters or shuttles, with generally only a single technomage on board.  Weaponry is smilar in nature to that found on Vorlon ships, and they are able to disappear at will.  They can also project an alternative appearance, often that of a mythical monster if the pilot wishes.

Agents of Gaming used to have a Ship of the Month page where they would normally post a ship from an upcoming product.  Most of these are included in the main fleet listings, but a few never made it that far before the end.  Therefore the next few items will be from some minor races that never got their own full fleets.

The Koulani

The Koulani are a minor race located near the Earth Alliance.  Given that their space ship classes are named after classes of exploration sailing ships it appears they are from a world with large oceans.

The Ch'lona

The Ch'lona are a minor race located near the Earth Alliance.  Their vessels use an overall armoured sheath to protect them so the avoid having exposed weapon turrets, sensor arrays, or thrusters.  I have increased their hull rating to represent this as it spreads out the Engine and Weapon hits slightly more.

One of the base Ch'lona vessels, there are numerous variants of the Es'kahsi resulting in oppents never being sure what ships they are facing.

The Deneth

The Deneth are a minor race located near Earth Alliance space.  It appears that they don't get on too well with the Alliance given that their heavy cruiser is designed as a counter to the Hyperion.

The Tal'kona-Sha

One of the older races, almost certainly older than the Minbari, the Tal'kona-Sha are located beyond the area of space that used to be claimed by the Dilgar.  They do not welcome other races to their space  It is rumoured that the Dilgar did mount and invasion of Tal'kona-Sha space but no trace of it has ever been found.

Til'sha Patrol Frigate (In Service 306BC)
Like all Tal'kona-Sha vessels, the Til'sha is a living ship similar to Vorlon vessels.  The Til'sha is used as a border patrol vessel and it has sufficient firepower to ensure that any raiders or smugglers that encroach on their terriority don't do so ever again.

The Drazi Freehold

The Drazi are an aggressive, and not overly bright, race bordering the Narn and the Centauri.  Every few years the entire race arbitrarily splits into the Green and Purple factions who then fight each other until one side or the other achieves supremacy.  That faction will then rules the Drazi for the next few years until they do it all over again.  This internal factionalism has kept the Drazi from being a major threat to their neighbours and nearby minor races.

Given their racial outlook almost all the weapons on Drazi ships face forward with only a few covering the sides.  This gives them difficulties when enemy vessels get behind them as they generally won't turn away from the enemy in front to deal with the one to the rear.

This all-out attack philosophy and a deficiency in fighters resulted in the Drazi suffering heavy losses during the Dilgar invasion.

Drazi vessels are usually smaller than those of other races and are almost exclusively armed with particle weapons of various types.

The Drazi have never really taken to fighters, but they did realise they would need them to deal with enemy fighters.

The Vree Congomerate

Yes, the Vree are rather small and grey with big heads.  Yes, they did visit Earth quite some time ago.  Yes, they did abduct a few people and carry out some experiments but they really don't see what all the fuss is about.

The Vree are what everyone thinks of when you mention aliens, right down to the flying saucers.  Part of the League of Non-Aligned Worlds, they are a race of interstellar traders.

The idea of the Zorth is that you carry so many of them at least a few will get through to damage the enemy even thought they are individually poor fighters.

The Markab Theocracy

The Markab are one of the older races, having been in space for over 1000 years.  They are a deeply religious people with a large pantheon of gods.

Their military more closely resembles the militant arms of ancient religious orders than a coherent fleet, and rank is based on religious standing rather than capability.

In 2259 a great plague came upon the Markab.  Declared a curse from the gods for some misdeed of the race, the priests forbade the scientists from developing a cure resulting in the entire race being wiped out.  Attempts by other races or raiders to move into Markab space have been hampered by the destruction of the Markab jump gate.

Kowart Rescue Cruiser (In Service 2010)
Some religious sects didn't operate warships.  Instead they went out on peaceful missions to aid those in need.  During the Dilgar War many of these ships, based on the Mafka hull, slipped into Dilgar territory to rescue those on occupied worlds.  The fact that so many made it back led to the belief that these ships were blessed by the gods.

The Balosian Underdwellers

A subterranean reptilian race, their world was occupied by the Centauri for over 60 years while they strip mined the surface.  When the Centauri departed they left behind some broken down shuttles and patrol ships that the Balosians reverse engineered and then started to explore space.

Eventually the Narn visited the Balosians and attempted to make them a subject race to protect them from further Centauri exploitation.  Since the Balosians had never been exploited, the few encountered by the Centauri were considered to be unintelligent animals and ignored, this did not go down well and when the Narn attempted to land troops they were repulsed.

As a result of this conflict the Balosians gained a reputation among the League worlds as good fighters and many hired out as mercenaries while they expanded their fleet.  Unfortunately they made a great show of their new fleet, mainly made up of old hulls purchased from the Centauri, so the Dilgar knew what to expect when they invaded.

Due to their subterranean nature the Balosians were able to escape the worst of the occupation underground while the Dilgar took what resources they wanted from the surface.  The remnants of the Balosian fleet continued to attack Dilgar supply lines throughout the war, only occasionally returning to other League worlds for repairs and supplies.

The Balosians never joined the League and since the end of the Dilgar War they have rebuilt their fleet, although with more secrecy this time, with most of the new ships being of their own designs.


Fighters
The Balosians initially used the Delta-V fighter as it was easy to obtain before moving on to produce their own fighter designs.  The Delta-V is still used as a ground-based defence and training fighter.

Shasi Light Fighter (In Service 2219)
Similar in appearance to the Centauri Razik, the Shasi was discovered to be under-armed when compared to Dilgar fighters.  After liberation production switched to the heavier Shadras.

The Descari Committees

The Descari are a xenophobic race of large ape-like creatures.  They were always paranoid about other species and a failed attempt by the Narn to subjugate them didn't help.

They used the wreckage of the Narn fleet to build new, more powerful ships to protect themselves from future aggression.  As they explored nearby systems they encountered the Markab, who they were impressed by, and for a time it appeared that the Descari were starting to overcome their xenophobia.  Unfortunately this was not to be as the Dilgar approached.

Realising that their small fleet could not stand against the Dilgar, the Descari sent as many civilians away as possible to seek refuge with other races.  Unfortunately many of these refugees were not well treated by their hosts and this just added to the Descari distrust of other races.  The situation has not been helped by the destruction of the Descari central government during the Dilgar invasion, resulting in the only rulers left being fringe elements.  Due to their experiences the Descari have not joined the League of Non-Aligned Worlds.

The Descari are currently refitting their fleet with improved weaponry based on Dilgar and Earth Alliance designs.

The Scorata is an attempt to enlarge the Scorova design by adding a third side pod.  It is considered something of a failure due to the poor firing arcs for the primary weapons and the slow sped compared to other designs such as the Rulnar.

The Cascor Commonwealth

A race of furry mammals that are as at home walking on four legs and two, the Cascor are one of the more peaceful races in the galaxy.

The Cascor fell quickly to the Dilgar, and while their home world wasn't occupied the Dilgar used a number of virus weapons against it killing over 1 million inhabitants.

While the Cascor joined the League of Non-Aligned Worlds after the dilgar War, the no longer attend meetings as they do not see they are getting much benefit from their membership and find several other member races rather aggressive.


Fighters
Caccar Ultralight Fighter (In Service 2209)
Probably the fastest fighter in the galaxy, the Caccar is used in large numbers to swamp enemy defenses so the Calaq's can get through to attack important targets.

Most races dislike ion weapons due to the excess radiation they produce.  However, due to the levels of naturally occurring ion radiation in their atmosphere the Cascor make great use of them.

Ruqacc Ion Satellite (In Service 2231)
After the loss of most of their fleet to the Dilgar, the Cascor homeworld was only protected by ground-based fighter squadrons that where unable to stop the Dilgar delivering virus bombs.  To counter the Dilgar attacks the Cascor developed a cheap armed satellite which uses long-ranged ion torpedoes to keep the enemy at bay.

Nashaq Fleet Carrier (In Service 2260)
Based on the Norsca, the Nashaq does't carry as many fighters as the Qoccata but  it carries an advanced electronic warfare suite to support fleet operations.  It was initially intended to include a rad cannon in the weaponry but it was discovered that this weapon interfered with the electronic warfare systems and so it was removed.

The Corillani Theocracy

The Corillani are a religious people who were subjects of the Cenaturi Republic for over 350 years.  After that they were subjects of the Narn for a shorter, less prosperous, period until after the Dilgar War.

Immediately after the departure of the Narn the Corillani joined the League of Non-Aligned Worlds in order to gain protection from the larger empires and to obtain access to more advanced technology.


The Corillani Military
The Corillani have three different military factions: the Corillani People's Navy is the fleet of the Corillani home world; the Orillani Space Force is the navy of the sole Corillani colony that is now independent and often doesn't get on with the home world due to religious differences; and the Defenders of Corillan which is the military arm of the theocracy and mainly keeps watch over the other two fleets to ensure they don't start a popular uprising against the church.

A minor race, the Grome are a proud and self-reliant people.  As member of the League of Non-Aligned Worlds they would not accept technological assistance from other races and this appears to be continuing since they joined the Interstellar Alliance.

The Hurr are an aggressive species originating near Drazi space.  Fortunately they are one of the least technologically advanced space faring races in the galaxy.  This, plus an early encounter with the Tal'kona-sha, has prevented them becoming a threat to other nearby races.

While the Hurr have limited ability to build new ships, they are able to quickly produce bases and other defences.  On occasion this is all that has stopped them being overrun by their neightbours.  The Roskor has a central core, containing the plasma cannons and command facilities, that they then attach four outer modules to.

The Hyach Gerontocracy

The Hyach are one of the older and more advanced races in the League, their civilisation being over 7000 years old, but they are in decline with a falling birth rate.  They are a people caught in the rituals of the past and led by a Grand Council where the primary requirement for membership is old age.

While they have what is probably the most advanced ships in the League, they prefer to withdraw to their home world and wait out any attacker.

Dartha Medium Fighter (In Service 2222)
While the laser cannon mounted on the Dartha is capable of dealing respectable damage to enemy warships, the fighter lacks weaponry to deal with enemy fighters – something the Hyach need.

Evirol Kon Auxiliary Carrier (In Service 2230)
Having decided to abandon their outposts to the Dilgar, the Hyach didn't have a use for their freighters, although a few were used as blockade runners, but worried that te Dilgar would breach their outer defences they didn't want to mothball them.  It was an easy conversion to modify the cargo bays to carry fighters and make the ships into temporary carriers.  Most were converted back after the war.

Alichi Tal Infiltrator (In Service 2244)
While the Hyach are not inclinded towards ground combat or boarding actions, they did see the need for a special operations vessel which they created on their stealth hull.  By removing the spinal laser they were able to add a large hanger bay to carry assault shuttles and breaching pods.
