a cost for both 0% and 100% on Ad Hoc, Elite and Vehicle percentages
extra level or two for HTH Rating cost.
It occurs to me that I am dense, and the terror effect of a particularly unnerving weapon (say, an incredibly brutal sniper rifle) could be a After Burst. Duhh! So simple!
cool !!
i didn't think of it either.

I've been considering making a new effector type called "gore". If a figure was killed using a gore weapon, it would cause an indiv. morale test on all friendly figures within a number of inches equal to the firing weapon's feed rate or # of HTH dice...or maybe a set distance, like 4" or 6"?

I'd go with the set-distance Demian. The figure's proximity to the gore effect should be the determining factor.
Higher feed rate in and of itself shouldn't be more horrific. The afore-mentioned sniper weapon being single-shot after all.
Such a weapon would have to be particularly unnerving....after all, there aren't that many warm-and-cuddly ways to die on a battlefield.
Sniper weapons are feared, not so much because of the gore it causes, but the fear that comes with imagining your own head is in somebody's sights, and you can't even see them to fight back.
But Gore is a cool name for the effect! I'd make it a set distance!

One thing that comes to mind that could be used to determine the "gore effect" radius is the impact rating of the weapon, say IR+2". Would downplay the HTH version obviously.
Also, if the gore effect is made into an actual effector, I would also consider making a "pindown effector" which would cause an additional Stun effect. I have to say tho that IMHO these would be better off as additional After-Burst options (IIRC there aren't such, can't access the rules from this computer).
Standard Infantry with an AR of 0.
Table 2.1:Standard Infantry Costs (pg 94) does not list any frames with an AR of 0. But in the Armor Rating description on page 11 it states that .." standard infantry will always have a zero or positive AR".
this would make converting 40K easier, as i've come to the conclusion that 4+ armor in 40K is equivalent to a SI with an AR of 0.
thanks
There's no statistical reason you can't use the PI tables to build SI. The differences in the two frame types even out (mobility/terrain coverage vs. vulnerability to AOE), making the distinction one of tech level "feel", not game balance.
so one could use the PI tables to build SI with an AR 0 ? Simply treat as SI in all respects (Agility mods, AoE vulnerability, etc.) ?
That would look so cool in the official errata !!!!!! !!!! !!!! ! ! !!!
thanks !!!!!!!!!

I get the sense that brother Jim is trying to tell us something...
uuummmmmmm........
Yes, please.
Consider it officially endorsed for now. I'll make it a point to change the errata after the holiday weekend (out of town).
-Demian
okee dokee !!!!!
thanks bunches !!!!
what, i can't do the same thing too many times in a row.
it would get boring............and i don't want that.
Sorry to dredge this oldie up, but it seems more sensible to collect these ideas in a single thread than in multiple ones...
Namely, it suddenly occured to me yesterday evening when walking home from work that there is no "Extra CDWs" augmentation, is there now?* Only "Extra Grenades".
*) EDIT: oh yes there is
The morale of the story is that I should never trust my memory on any rules subject whatsover. Thanks for being sensitive and not leering at me for this tho...
I'd like to see the close-combat/interior rules.
Bruce over at Hirst Arts is working on a set of molds for making SF tunnels. I'm almost drooling over the idea, but there really aren't any rules that fit; they're all focused on outdoors.
