Re: Defiance Mini's Update?

Suggestions I spotted over at The Miniatures Page:

Maybe put them next to other 25/28mm figs so we have an idea of how they stack up, scale-wise?

Oh, and more firing poses, please. Especially with the rifles

Fairly good suggestions, as it happens...

If any official (as in from IM or Demian) answer is merited, the thread is here:

Re: Defiance Mini's Update?

I have photos of the painted figures now, as soon as I get them on my site I will post a link here.

As for the pose ideas. I will do more shooting poses in the next batch and also try to do some of the suggested "swat" style poses.

The first order from MJ12 for the figures is with the caster now. So I would hope to get them shipped over in the next fortnight or so!

btw, I will be stocking the Defiance rules for those that might be on this side of the pond (i.e. in the UK)!

Thanks

See what I can do, should be able to do one with a GW figure of some sort. I also have some of the Kryomek figures and a few Void/Urban War figures that I can put in.

Basically the figures are 30mm "foot to eye". This is the scale that Demian and I settled on as being the new 28mm (which of course is the new 25mm). The figures are a tight 30mm and will not creep. There may be some variation, after all they are not clone troopers but generally they will be at 30mm height.

Groovy!

Groovier!

Grooviest! (is that even a word?)

I assume we'll be able to get them from you direct at around the same time as well? It's sorta senseless to order UK produce from US to Finland...

Hmm, Demian said previously that they are 30mm foot to head and 28mm foot to eye IIRC :?

Anyhow, a comparison shot is always good. GW figs are pretty much a must and VOID minis are good choice as well (being less chunky than GW but still "true 28mm" scale). A WARMACHINE and/or Mongoose SST fig would also be good, if the ATs are 30mm scale.

I wont be selling direct to the public myself, I prefer to concentrate on the sculpting these days. I am looking for a retailer or two in the UK to carry them, but I have not finalised that yet. I may organise a special deal for members of the SFSFW, where I will sell directly to them, but that is my only plan for direct sales at the moment.

You will need to order direct from MJ12 at the moment.

Ooops, yep you are quite right, I really don't know what I was think of when I wrote that!

I can probably do the Warmachine figure as I have not put mine on Ebay yet. I don't have any SST (or indeed know of anyone with any SST figures), it was just one system too many for me, although I admit it looks great fun. I may get some Skinnies as they are very cute, but I can't say when that will happen!

Ah quite.

Shopping from USA: a negligible problem. Getting more Defiance sculpts: priceless.... Well, not perhaps quite priceless, but... You get the picture, I'm certain.

WARMACHINE is popular so I should think it's good to show alongside. SST figs aren't a must as they (as well as Infinity and Darkson Designs minis which have garnered mentions on these forums) are roughly the same scale as the WM ones, but propably less commonplace.

I'll say! The pictures are a liiiittle bit tiny, even when enlarged, butman is it sweet to see them painted up! Excellent work, Mr. Drage!  big_smile

Re: Defiance Mini's Update?

I haven't been paying attention that closely, but the MJ12 website seems a bit more top drawer than in the past - what with online ordering, the catalogue, the forum, and all that....

I guess I should mention that the April 24 date is a guess... I'm hoping that Iron Mammoth can get stock to us by then...

If not, very soon afterwards! smile

Doing the best I can, I will chase up my caster tonight and see how he is doing.

As soon as they are shipped I will let you know.

(at this point 24 April seems reasonable!)

Re: Defiance Mini's Update?

So, seeing as it's already the 26th... How many have tried ordering 'em yet?

Actually, I wouldn't try ordering them just yet... gonna be another week or two (at most?)

Oh poo.

Incidentally, do the six troopers fit in a USPS Priority Mail small flat rate envelope?

Mis typed this message. Please see the next one!

Re: Defiance Mini's Update?

Well, as you guys have noticed, the figures have not arrived yet.

Basically, the guy who does my casting has been ill for several weeks, I was trying to contact him last week, to chase them up, only to find he was away on holiday. I only found out he was ill while trying to contact him last week.  :?

Finally got hold of him yesterday, and he explained that the holiday was a part of his recuperation. He is now back to work and catching up on delayed work.
Hopefully they will be cast on Monday of next week. I will collect them as sonn as they are done and then ship them straight to Dan.  big_smile

I can't give an exact date yet, but they are on the way!  :?

I can only apologise to you guys for the delays and and say that I am trying to get them shiopped as soon as possible!

Re: Defiance Mini's Update?

I stuck the parcel in the post to Dan last Saturday, hopefully he will have it around this weekend or early next week.

I assume he has sorted out the packaging (well I guess it is fairly simple for mail order anyway).

I should have a stock of the rulebooks in the UK shortly as well.

I'm fully expecting the parcel be intercepted and detained for ransom by Subterranean Mole People or whathaveyou tongue

Dan has them!

I should have the rules in the UK in the next week or so!

Re: Defiance Mini's Update?

Has anyone here gotten the Defiance Assault Trooper mini's yet? I have - they are superb! My hat is off to David Drage for doing such a good job on 'em! And to Demian for sending me some!

Re: Defiance Mini's Update?

I have two packs and am attempting to write a review of them, but life keeps interfering as usual. Possibly can put it out next week.

I did snap a couple of rough-and-ready size comparison shots for the review and might as well publish them now (as a teaser):

[*]First, the usual suspects (from left to right): GW Necromunda Delaque Gang Leader, Corvus Belli Infinity PanOceania Fusilier, i-Kore VOID 1.1. V.A.S.A. Knight of the Spirit, Copplestone Castings Future Wars Trooper in beret and Iron Mammoth Defiance Human Confederacy Assault Trooper[*]And then the less usual suspects (ditto): Iron Mammoth Defiance Human Confederacy Assault Trooper, Target Games Warzone Imperial Trencher Sergeant, West Wind Productions Cobalt-1 Cobalt Mercenary Scout pilot and Foundry Street Violence Ganger

Re: Defiance Mini's Update?

Managed to complete the English version of the review (still in the process of writing the Finnish version) and posted it on MiniRealms. Also posted a "short version" in the webshop under the AT entry.

Re: Defiance Mini's Update?

I STRONGLY suggest that someone send a pack of these to the fellow who runs weetoysoldiers.com

http://weetoysoldiers.com/wp/

He does great scale comparison lineups; the site is a great reference.
