Topic: Closure of mj12games on yahoo groups

Just read that we have Two weeks left due to no new messages.
I am not sure that the messages always works on the yahoo group, but more useful has been the files section.

This new forum scheme seems very bright (pass the sunglasses).
I notice that there is an "Upload attachment" section below. Will it also be possible to delete attachments when they become out of date? On the yahoo groups I always delete the previous version of the shipyard and Wardogs construction sheets when a new version may be needed.

Just updated to phpBB3 -- trying to find a style that works for me. I'd prefer something close to what we had in phpBB2.

Yes, attachments are now allowed to posts. I'm not sure about the file updating -- but if you want a file deleted, you can always ask me to do it. smile

OK stopped laughing.
"Hello Kitty"????????????
I think changing the scheme to this might be a bit far.
Or is this a new game that you have in mind?

There's a widget over to the left, under your profile management somewhere - poke around there.

My, but you done went and updated this thang! Not a bad job, not bad at all - seems a bit bland color-wise though.

I suppose that we could drop the yahoo groups thing if we HAD to. One concern I have is you incurring the cost of the bandwidth if people upload too many files (or view too many).

Re: Closure of mj12games on yahoo groups

Oy, I gotta question, too....

What happened to the Omegapedia? If was just gone, now it's asking me for a password.

...and I'm responsible for 7+ percent of the posts made here. I'm not sure if that's good, or I just have no life.

Re: Closure of mj12games on yahoo groups

Give us a bit of notice beforehand. Jeez, thought I'd logged into a different forum...

Lets just check my sig is still there...

Sorry ... it happened very quickly. I've been sitting on the phpBB3 upgrade for months, and only yesterday figured out why it wasn't working. So when I fixed it, I waned to make everything happen RIGHT NOW.

Everything should still be there -- but if you find any problems, let me know; I've archived the old forum.

Re: Closure of mj12games on yahoo groups

As I suggested on the yahoo group. . .

pbwiki makes an excellent place to store files.  At it would take is for somebody to be willing to take 5 min to set one up, and tell people where to move their files to.  I'm not here much, so I don't want to be the owner, but maybe somebody else does?

Re: Closure of mj12games on yahoo groups

I want Icons that are obvious that there's a new post.

I want a shutdown on idiotic signatures.

eveything else I can do without (except of course the breasts, I like those)

Re: Closure of mj12games on yahoo groups

What idiotic signatures?

[FLASH] FLASH [FLASH] got turned off

Re: Closure of mj12games on yahoo groups

I like the new loook and I rarely check the yahoo group these days.  The storage space is nice, but that's all I can think of!

Re: Closure of mj12games on yahoo groups

It would be a pity if the group closed, but if everyone else wants to let it slide what the hell.

@cricket: I had a bit of a bad day the day before yesterday, primarily because of a meeting which gave me a headache, plus with Christmas and everything else thats happening...Just caught me on a bad day yesterday, thats all.

Actually, with the removal of the Yahoo! group and the website redesign, I SHOULD be able to allow for file hosting directly on mj12games.com.

Re: Closure of mj12games on yahoo groups

I'm rather fond of the yahoo group, but as long as the files there are still accessable, I am ok with it going.

I'm waiting on my web host to approve the file upload script.

Assuming it is acceptable and doesn't pose a huge security risk, you should be able to start moving files from the Yahoo! group soon.

Like the new Icons

Re: Closure of mj12games on yahoo groups

I have decided to go ahead and leave the Yahoo! group up for archival purposes. However, I will not be actively maintaining or monitoring the group.
