Topic: Minimum fighter flight size

F.1 says the minimum fighter flight size is 4. Why? Especially for strikers/seekers, being able to launch an individual missile seems useful.

One could imagine a solitaire scenario where a number of very powerful strikers are launched at your ship, and your task is to survive...

Re: Minimum fighter flight size

Honestly, there's no specific reason. And in the Klingon Armada book, this rule is broken... wink

Re: Minimum fighter flight size

At last, the flight size and shuttlecraft (ok they were for VBAM and FASA T**k conversions) in the shipyard are legit?

Re: Minimum fighter flight size

Personally id like to see flight size be open ended on the low and high end.

Firing a single missile, launching a single missile or a 2 fighter CAP for example.

Id also like decaying strikers, not sure how to point it though...  for example a flight size XX striker flight that looses X strikers in the end phase of each turn after launch.   This would let things like plasma torpedos be created... powerful weapons that lose capability the longer they travel.

Re: Minimum fighter flight size

If you want to model individual strikers/fighters, why not apply a fire-linked fighter ability? Essentially, all the fighters get treated as a single fighter. It would be a stopgap measure until better methods can be found...
