The divisor is the square root of modifiers which have already been applied -- which means heavier/more powerful weapons will always be larger than less powerful ones, just not by as much. Basically, ROF is more valuable for seeking weapons than ACC/IMP/DMG.

And I guess that with a dual-mode weapon, one mode with seeker, one without, you work out the CRat with the longer range (for example, a MA 8 seeker weapon and a RNG 12 standard weapon would base the ORat on the seeker weapon).

Yes. The longer "range" value, which for seekers is 2xMA.

And, while I'm here, in a Multi-Weapon Mount which has Fire-Linked, would a successful to-hit roll mean all the weapons hit?

No. You make a single roll, and the number of hits (determined by the multi-weapon mount) is multiplied by the number of mounts firing.

Majestic Twelve Games is pleased to announce that Starmada Unity is here!

The Unity Rulebook represents what we expect will become the definitive version of a game that has gone through several updates over more than two decades. In that time, players around the world have grown to love Starmada for its shallow learning curve, depth of experience, and ease of play, even as they differ over which release represents the One True Vision.

The goal of this edition, designated PROJECT UNITY, was to draw from the best parts of each incarnation of the game, from the Compendium and Starmada X, through the Admiralty Edition and 2012's Nova Rulebook, and unify those concepts in a way that allows experienced starship captains to continue enjoying the game they love while drawing new players into the fold.

Long-time players will be thrilled to learn there is no need to convert existing starship designs to this new edition: comprehensive rules are included which allow players to use both Admiralty and Nova ship display sheets with a minimum of modification.

With the release of the Unity Rulebook, we hope to revitalize the game and introduce the thrills of tabletop battles in deep space to a whole new generation. The Universal Game of Starship Combat is back, and better than ever!

SPECIAL OFFER: Purchase the hard copy of Starmada Unity by April 30, 2017, and receive a free PDF download of the book!

Per ADB, anyone who has one of the Admiralty/Nova Star Fleet books will receive a free PDF of the Unity version of those books and/or be eligible for a hardcopy at a nominal fee ($5, I believe).

More details once those books are finished.

The book being released today is the 140pp. Unity Rulebook which has nothing to do with the SFU.

The rulebook should be out later today.

To clarify: the "free upgrade" offer applies only for the Star Fleet Armada books (Klingon Armada, Romulan Armada, etc.). If you want the full rulebook, you will have to buy it.

One minor problem has popped up: although the instructions state that the greater-than sign (>) is used to indicate a secondary weapon mode, the spreadsheet is still coded to recognize the exclamation point (!) for this purpose.

Sorry... I could only test it in MS Excel.

Are you using the spreadsheet from the above link? Those little circles following the firing arcs should be squares... hmm

Also, I get a combat rating of 230.

The "multiple boxes labeled ENG" problem is only there because you haven't hidden the unused rows. Click on the arrow in cell S1 and use the Auto-Filter to hide all the rows with a "0" showing in column S.

Basically, if any of the cells showing in that column are red, you aren't done yet. smile

No, you're not missing it. The Jutland cards were done for a Jutland scenario to be run on the 100th anniversary of the battle, and we thought it would be nice to provide them to those who might want their own.

I do hope to put together a Jutland book in the near future, but time has not been my friend.

Off the top of my head, I would give "Ignores Screens" a x3 multiplier.

There are weapon traits that reduce and/or ignore shields.

There are weapon traits that do extra damage, and therefore use up more screens ("armor").

However, at the moment there are no traits that bypass screens completely.

If you purchased from the MJ12 site, I should be able to confirm the sale. However, the discounted/free product will need to be acquired via ADB.

I cannot speak with authority, but my assumption is that the PDF files at RPGNow/SJGames will be updated, and those who bought them can simply download the updates.

If you bought a hard copy directly from ADB, Inc., they have records of such.

I believe there was something in CL#52 about a "pinky swear" to cover those who bought hard copies elsewhere.

Here's another sample of a starship display; this time, from Ad Adstra Games' "Contact: 1939" setting.
