Got it yesterday, have spent a couple hours checking things to make sure I've got them correct. Got a few questions, which I'll be asking shortly...

Damn, you don't check for a while and then find it's already been released. Grrr…

Who will it be available from? Just here, or will Brigade Models be selling it on this side of the Atlantic?

EDIT: Nvm, just ordered it. Yay!

That's fair enough, if I can design weapons like plasma torches without having to introduce house rules for similar-looking dual-mode weapons...:)

Here are two supplements, including the SAE version of 'Splitting the Difference'

Ah, fair enough. So there's nothing to stop me, for example, using a weapon with Gid+Sct, or have a weapon with three range bands that simulates the same effect--they'll be the same, but you can do either. Is that correct?

Just a question, based on an excruciating attack of fridge-based recollection:

A few months ago I thought the range-based traits were being done away with in favour of up to five customisable range bands so that, for example, a range-12 weapon with Crn and Gid could be designed as a Range-8 weapon with just one range band. However, the range-based bands are back. Is this merely an update to the rules in 2017 to allow ships to be designed to be equivalent to version 2 of the SUE rules, or is the no-range-based-traits rules being abandoned?

Sorry if I'm not making myself clear--I've been running on between five to six hours' sleep for the last three days after an intensely stressful week-and-a-half.

After the 'success' of my previous two VBAM:SAE supplements, here's another one:

Interesting. I'll have to print it out to get a chance to read through it properly, but...

A very quick playaround with the weapons sheet has shown me that some aspects are interesting, although I am a bit disappointed that you can't choose different traits for different modes. I was hoping to have a weapon that could be Modulating at short range, with lessening shield-cracking properties at longer ranges. But that's just one aspect, and I like the fact that, with the five potential weapon range combinations, you could have a plasma torch-like weapon--a weapon with awesome power close-in but virtually no effect further away.

For the pure VBAM gamer, here's a shipbook for Blind Conclusions that has just the VBAM stats (and its also a handy guide if you don't want to trawl through the supplement to find the relevant figures)

Edit: didn't save this, so it'll be up at a later date, but here's the 2nd supplement

...and two supplements came from it...:)

I've been tempted to do some VBAM:SAE campaigns, but the fact that the figures for CR/CC and maintenance were off from the values I used has always dissuaded me. But, making some changes to bring them closer to the VBAM:SX stats, and after doing that feeling it would be churlish not to give it a go, I designed two VBAM:SAE Campaign Sourcebooks. They're not complete, but the SAE side is all there.

Here they are: Blind Conclusions and Penultimate Congratulations.

Just logged on to see this. Been busy with my new releases (which will be up ASAP). So am I right in assuming that the ranges are now completely modifiable in every way? That raises some...interesting concepts...:D

Finally, the Wild Habitat and a cross-section of the general outlook of each habitat

(apologies for the poor-quality artwork)

And their corresponding Hub-Derived Habitats

The Chain-derived minor habitats: Chain Hinterland, Border Habitat and Empty Habitats Type 2

Now for the Habitats themselves. First, the big three--Chain, Hub and Chain-Hub

Sub-sectors E, F, I, J and the polar sub-sectors

These are the maps for Playground of the Precursors. First: The over-all map, and sub-sectors A, B, C, D, G and H

After a few months, here's the result of that labour. One is a semi-spiritual successor to Gift of the Custodians (and was the longest to create, mainly because of the maps I'd created which, unfortunately, are too big to post up), one is a fairly standard setting, and one is a bit experimental and owes its existence to a train of thought whose far-distant start-point was musing on how to convert Hard Vacuum to SAE.

Edit: no idea what the other two were, but here's Playground of the Precursors

Hi all.

I was working on another idea of mine a few days ago when I realised something was up with the Shipyard and how it calculates ORat for flotillas using ammo-using weapons. For some flotillas it seems to be calculating the ORat wrong. Now, I'm not sure, but I think it's to do with the look-up tables for the divisors. For the flotilla ORat formulae, the (hopefully relevant part of the) formula reads:

VLOOKUP($T$6,$BB$114:$BC$143)

But for non-flotillas it reads:

VLOOKUP($C$9,$BB$114:$BC$143)

What that does, I think, is that instead of referring to the size of the flotilla's hull, it refers to the number of the hulls in the flotilla, so for flotillas of more than 3 hulls, the flotilla has a ORat divisor of a hull-4 or more vessel, which makes it a 0.6 or even 0.8 rather than a 0.4.

If this is right, can someone comfirm it for me? I've done some preliminary errata for some of my supplements that takes this into account, and found that some of my flotillas, as a result, have a lower CRat than they should have.

Okay. At least that way I won't 'compare' them to any of my supplements...:D

I'll give this a real read-through when I've got more time, but just a question: are you using the pre-October 2018 values or the values post-October 2018?

Just a minor bit of errata...

When designing the Enohi-Paeli class, I initially was going to have multiple primaries so gave the Forward-Only Turrets trait. Then it got downgraded to one primary weapon. Given that previous classes of vessel didn't have any change to their CRat when adding F-OT, I thought nothing of it. Of course, then I check (after release)...

The Enohi-Paeli should have a CRat of 29, not 30. Oops...

The Venusians...
