I have read the two movement systems and wonder why a ship cannot use any unused Engine Points to pivot after the ship completes moving.  Any explanations?

There is a game called Starfire that I played in the 80s & 90s that had warp points.  In that game there is one in our solar system past Neptune's orbit that led to the Alpha Century system which had six warp points...
There are many novels published by Weber set in the Starfire Universe.

Hello everyone,
We have been playing using the house rule that weapons can only have an impact and damage value of One, with as many traits as you want.  Also we don't use the expendable & slow traits. 
This has helped eliminate one-shot ships. 
The battles now have more maneuvering and a targeted ship will last for several turns. 
It is working for us and we are again enjoying the game.  8-)

Hello everyone,
We played several games while I was down in S.Fla.  Gaming Glen came up with an interesting design for his ships.  They all had a engine rating of 7 and two Fire-controls.  The ships went into evasive maneuvers making making it two harder to hit them and their two FCs countered their having a more difficult time hitting.  It was necessary to close to short range to have a better chance to hit.  I thought it was a very resourceful idea and it worked.  Good Job Glenn  8-)

Hello everyone,
We played a 2800 point game on Wednesday.  We have decided that all weapons can only have an impact or damage of one.  The weapon can have as many traits as you want.  This keeps the firepower from being two outrageous. 
The game went well and lasted for many turns.  I think that we have found a way to make the game fun again. 
We are playing next Wednesday again.

When we play here in Jacksonville, a friend uses Starmada-Nova ships.  The rules for using them in the 'Unity games work well.
We are playing Starmada this Wednesday.  8-)

Hi Daniel,
Looks great.  It will be very helpful for new players.  If they have access to the Drydock ship-designer it will make calculating much easier.  I like the idea of giving new players some examples of Starmada starship weapons.  This will help them get stated more easily.

Hello everyone,
We played Starmada yesterday and today at Gaming Glenn's Store in Davie, Fla. (near Fort Lauderdale)
We have decided to restrict the damage value of all weapons to one.  Players can, of course, add weapon traits to make them more powerful.  The three games we played were great.  Targeted ships took several turns to destroy and there was more maneuvering. 
I will be down in S.Fla again just before Christmas  We are planning to play on Wednesday Dec 26th @ 1pm.  Everyone is welcome.
We have restricted all weapons to having a damage and an impact of one.  Adding traits is fine (pile 'em on :geek: ). 
This makes the battles last longer and maneuvering has become more important.  Come join us.

This looks fascinating. 
Piercing +1 costs x1.5.  The Semi-Modulating only costing x1.6 seems to be a great deal and should render Piercing +1 obsolete.

Hello and Welcome to Starmada.
I use Micromachine minis and other 1/2400 to 1/3000 minis for spaceships.  I also use 1/2400 naval minis that I turned into starships, inspired by Starblazers. 
There are so many options in the game.  Remember to have fun and laugh at the dice whether they roll well or don't.
As for terrain, a planet to defend or fight over can be fun to use.  It can block line of sight and assist movement.

I did that and found it made range 18 weapons cheaper & more accurate.  I am glad this adjustment has been made.

I agree with you that ships that "make sense" are more fun.  The friends I game with all have ships with minimal hull, no armor & no shields, and lotsa firepower.  The only way to have a chance to win is to use some of these assault cruisers.  We tried using fighters, but they turned out to be not that powerful for their cost.  One of these cruisers costs about the same as 5 squadrons of fighters but has much more  firepower.
