For which lapse, I should be ashamed. I love TSS to an embarassing degree...I think I love my mother more than I love TSS, but I'm not entirely sure (just kidding, Mom!).
I bought the ImpSB as soon as it was available on OBS, just because it was a new Starmada PDF, and I can't help but buy every single thing ever published for SM. Imagine my delight when I find my beloved TSS included as an Appendix!
There will be more support for TSS in the future, I hope?

I've checked our records, and you're not cleared for that information.
But one thing is certain, my friend...the little b@#$%rds Do. Not. Wheel.
Rock!
Sooooo bought the moment it's released!

How long wound a regular platoon game, with about 30 figures per side, take to play?
A couple of hours (1.5-2.5) if both players understand the rules and are being careful about tactics. Less if you houserule an activation-planning time limit or simply charge recklessly into the fray (a "technique" that seems popular with many SF minis gamers).
D:VG rocks! I would say it was better for Platoon vs Platoon skirmishes than for Company vs Company battles, but it can certainly stretch that far, esp. if some of your platoons will be vehicular (3-5 grav tanks are quicker to activate than 20-40 individual grunts). A combined-arms team (2 vehicle platoons + 1 dismount platoon + supporting arms vs a dug-in dismount platoon, say) is both practical and fun to play out. An added bonus: the results of the battle will be amazingly realistic.
JMO, YMMV, etc.

However, pill bugs still may not wheel.

Nice! I like the money/resource blocks only showing up if they are to be counted.

Well, I wouldn't go that far... I have already found things I would like to change... but thanks for the encouragement.
I would. This example tile rocks!

That would work for me, as an abstraction.
As another option, could it be a hexstand-by-hexstand option? A formation of three stands could opt for none, some, or all of its stands to "turtle up" each time it takes a reform action.

From my foxhole, nothing. I'm buying more and more of my gaming books as PDFs these days. I recently bought a fast 1200 dpi duplex-capable laser printer and a super-hvy-duty stapler, so if I want a printed book to hold in my hand, no sweat.
Furthermore, I just got alerted to deploy to Iraq for a year. My deployment bag must be no heavier than 70lbs. Can I take my 5+ bookshelves of gaming books with me? Nope. But I CAN take a personal laptop with every PDF I've ever bought on the hardrive + CD backups.
Best of all possible worlds, of course, was the deal you offered on Defiance...buy the book, get free PDF, or buy the PDF, get book at discount. Pretty book for shelf, portable PDF for laptop.

Is the FtM file currently for sale (at a reduced price, and thanks for that!) at RPGNow errata corrected? IIRC from discussions on the Yahoo Group, the unit point cost formula was wrong, some of the examples had errors, and you wanted to tweak the formation change/reform rules.
I originally bought a hardcopy, but I would gladly re-buy the PDF if it were corrected/updated.
Failing that, is the errata posted anywhere?
thanks,
