Got it. So all the ships will suffer the same penalty. So 3 ships firing long range with their big guns at one ship would each suffer a -3 overconcentration penalty?

Thanks for the quick reply. smile

Well I took your advice and picked up the 2nd Ed books. They look great. One quick question. How does overconcentraion penalty work if we are using the "Simultaneous Movement" rules? If all gunfire happens at the same time, do I just apply a single -1 penalty to ships that are shooting at the same target with their big guns (>or=10") at long range?

Thanks

I'm not sure it's going to help me. smile

I've just been sticking to hull points. It isn't a perfect solution, but me and my buddies aren't competitve enough to care. We're enjoying Version 1 very much.

Thank you for the replies.

I own the version 1 rules and love them. However, I noticed in version 2, you have created a point system to help balance out games. By any chance are you able to share the formula so that us version 1 players can use a point based system for balance.

If not, are there any recommendations on what is currently used to help balance out version 1 battles. I've heard most people just use hull points, but it's obvious that ships with the same number of hull points can shell out different amounts of damage.

Thanks for you help and input on this.
