I voted for option 1, although I'm ok with anti-fighter batteries and weapons being allowed to fire first. If a ship doesn't have some sort of fighter defense, then it is vulnerable, and that should be reflected in the game.

I've just gotten my gaming group into Starmada (the first taste is free, heh heh), and we had a question which came up last night. One of us interprets the impact rules as saying that for each impact die that succeeds, you do a full set of damage from that weapon. So, for example, if I had a weapon which had an IMP of 5 and a DMG of, and I succeeded on all five of the impact rolls, I would do 25 dice damage. Is that a correct interpretation?
