Topic: GF3 - Vassal Mod

Aloha - I created a vassal mod. for GF 3

The vassal mod itself is nothing spectacular- I used whatever topside ship art I could find that matched a particular ship's class.

I included the ships for the first scenario - Ulsan - Russo Japanese War (IJN vs IRN) as a way to test and get the feel of the rules.

Let me know what you think and/or if you have better topside art.

Looking forward to people's feedback.

I tried to upload the vsav for the Ulsan scenario - but that file type wasn't allowed.

I'm working on the next scenario in the IRN vs Ottoman Navy.

There is some automation in the mod.  Off the top of my noggin' -

- after combat - flash and illum markers are removed
- smoke counters have a selection to roll a die
- there's also a marked as fired selection on the ship counters as well

I am playing the mod vs. Carbs and It IS A GREAT Mod. Buy the rule book and start playing!!!

An AAR?  Hmm, My Russians ducked a long range salvo and we are attempting to cut off one of the Japanese Divisions from the other to defeat them in detail.

Carbs is working hard on more scenarios and we may do Dogger Bank next. Also considering the battle of Coronel. Any artwork you can provide really helps the development of the Mod. BTW, thanks for putting Castles of Steel on sale, I picked it up today.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but the link to this mod is dead and I was hoping the author could repost?  I would like to do this same thing and no sense reinventing the wheel.

I'd like to second that request for a repost of the Vassal mod. I'd like to get into Grand Fleets, but I would need the Vassal mod to do it. Can someone either repost it or submit it to the Vassal site?
