Topic: Starmada Dreadnoughts Vassal

Yeah, I know the Vassal Module hasn't been all that popular. But I really created it for me to play games and hoped others would tag along.  wink

Anyway, with permission of a fine fellow named Mike Fischer and his simple but nice ship art (available here), I have started working on a vassal module to play Dreadnoughts via email (or live online play). At first, I plan to get all the ships for the official scenarios into the module before release. I can add more later. Once I have done this for Starmada, I plan to also modify the module for use with Grand Fleets (2nd ed.).

Not sure what you mean? You could use it for anything, really. But it will be set up for use with Starmada Dreadnoughts.

As I understand it, VASSAL can play anything you like, if you have the graphics set. VASSAL knows nothing about the rules for whatever you're playing.

There is a Module (basically, a set of graphics) that has some generic-ish graphics to play Starmada with, that I did the graphics for.

I'm not certain if Dan would allow us to use any 'official' MJ12 graphics for a module, but I know that ADB would very probably not allow us to do graphics for the Trekky stuff, and Dan will NOT allow us to post such a module here without the 'express written permission' of ADB - and rightfully so.....never mind that Paramount would likely come down like a load of bricks on any commercial use outside of ADB's umbrella. wink

..being a semi-free agent, that's the way I understand it.
