Topic: Stealth and Carronade

Quick question:
If you have a weapon with carronade it can't fire at targets at long range.  Stealth says you treat all attacks as if they are at one range band further.

Does this mean that carronade weapons can only fire at short range (as if it was medium) since fire at medium range would be treated as long range which they can't fire at?

Alternatively does it just mean that fire at medium range takes the -1 penalty as if it was long range?

Thanks

Yes.

On a similar note does this mean that weapons with inv. range XXX have an easier time hitting/impacting/damaging ships with stealth?

Re: Stealth and Carronade

And finally, can a Minimum Range weapon fire on a Stealthy target in the first third of its range? (Sorry to thread necromance, but this seemed the most appropriate place for the question)

A literal reading of the rules would say "Yes", although that feels weird... I'm gonna say "no". A minimum range weapon can only attack a stealthy target in its medium range band, as if it were at long range.

Re: Stealth and Carronade

Interestingly, this means that if you combine Minimum Range and Carronade (rules for this provided in the Annex), then you end up with a weapon that cannot fire upon Stealthed ships at all.  I will likely houserule different answers to the above questions, mostly because it stretches the box in my head a bit to try to think of it this way.
