Topic: Starmada Play-by-Post

I'm thinking of getting a new play-by-post drake-notation site together. I started SAECGG a while back been when I found out that Google groups was on it's way out there seemed to be no point in developing it further. I'm considering revitalizing the effort through Yahoo Groups or somewhere else. The posting needs strict font options so things space properly in ASCII and needs file hosting options for some pdf guides to the group and such.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

Have you tried Vassal?  There is a Starmada module for it and seems to work quite well.

I'd second that. The learning curve for playing in Vassal is pretty gentle and I've found that the engine/module is very stable...even though the die roller hates me  sad

Re: Starmada Play-by-Post

Yeah I've used Vassal and it's fine. The play by post thing was meant as an option for those who didn't want or couldn't use vassal for whatever reasons. With Drake Notation and a little expanding on it, it allows others another option to play by. I admit it obviously won't be as popular, but it is another method of helping promote cricket's genius.

Oh, and by strict font above I meant fixed-width... Not sure why I said that...
