Topic: SAE--SNE conversions

I'm still toying with doing some conversions of SAE supplements I've released over the last year, but the lack of rules regarding the conversion of flotillas is a major issue.

I'm tempted to go with using the number of attack boats in the flotilla and then giving them fragile systems, but not sure whether it would work.

Also, as a decidedly unofficial convention, vessels with an odd number of SAE hull boxes would follow the conversion as normal, but lose one box from their last SNE section--so a SAE hull 9 vessel would have this SNE arrangement: 5/5/4. SAE hull 1 vessels would go with SNE 3, fragile systems.

Re: SAE--SNE conversions

Been toying with Hull 1 Independent fighters such as:
I may go BANG but if I get in range..
(14) Four Wing -class  Independent Fighter    Nova TL: 1
Armor:
Hull: 1 *  *
Thrust: 8 6 4 3 2
Shields: 5 6 6 6 6
ECM: 0 0 0 0 0
Weapons: 0 1 2 3 4
[V]: Wing Lasers  / [FR] / 1-2-3 / AD: 5 3 2 2 1 1 1 0 0 0 0 0
[W]: Proton Torpedoes (Gid){Exp} / [FF2][FF2] / 2-4-6 / AD: 6 4 3 2 2 1 1 1 0 0 0 0
Specials: Hyperdrive,
(If they can fit a hyperdrive in a fighter they must have a better tech level than o)

I was also looking at hull 2 for individual attack boats.

Re: SAE--SNE conversions

Frankly, you might be better off using "reinforced systems" rather than "fragile systems". Since all of the ships in the flotilla have the same systems, there's a lot of redundancy.

Re: SAE--SNE conversions

Okay, its been a month and, judging by the poll, there is a 66% in favour of the 'losing a hull box from odd SAE hulls in conversion', so I'll be doing that. Those in favour of the flotilla conversion, however, is just 33%, so I'll have to find another way to do that.
