Re: ABC? Whats the next letter?

Those are some big honking primary guns, there.  I like the carrier design, although the hybrid fighter-bomber FACs may not live up to its full potential.

How many of these ships are they supposed to have, anyway?  I don't remember Peru being a huge wet-navy power...

Re: ABC? Whats the next letter?

One Huascar, one Indepencia, two Unions and a single Aguirre, plus between four and six Coronel Bolognesi's

Peru, in the 1880s, did have a reasonable navy, but when Huascar (the real-life ship) sank, they only had the masted ship Indepencia plus a couple of torpedo boats...

Doctrine for the Peruvians is to use the Indepencia and the two Unions, plus possibly the Aguirre, as a fast attack force, while Huascar and the destroyers protect the ether above Peru.

Re: ABC? Whats the next letter?

Fair enough.  One assumes they'll be using the neutral Swiss space station for resupply and as a liberty port?  smile

The Huascar didn't sink. She was captured by Chile where she served in their navy until a boiler explosion in 1897. Partialy repaired she served as a sub tender from 1917-1930. In 1934 she became a museum ship and was restored to her 1878 condition and still exists today.

Re: ABC? Whats the next letter?

I'll be darned, I thought she sank after she was captured (from the boiler explosion you mentioned).  Who knew?

Re: ABC? Whats the next letter?

So the Indepencia must have sunk, then.

Damn, I knew I was wrong when I got home...

Oh well...:D
