Topic: Scenarios for some of the nations I've put up.

Scenario M1: The Ottoman Ordeal

The Hellenic Ether Navy, early on in its' existence, came under the control of Commodore M. Confederakis. This officer was an aggressive commander and a fierce patriot.

One day a Greek freighter was attacked by an Ottoman destroyer and destroyed. The Greeks, furious at this, ordered Commodore Confederakis to attack the Eter Kuvvetleri when it was on patrol...

Eter Kuvvetleri:

Cellat, Uyumayan, Hizlica, 4 x Kovalas (293 pts)

Hellenic Ether Navy

Basileus Georgios, Basilissa Olga, 4 x Vasilefs Georgios', 3 x Nordenfelts (on Basileus Georgios) (308 pts)

Victory Conditions: The battleships of both sides are very important to each side. All hull damage inflicted, therefore, awards DOUBLE VPs.

The side with the most hull points wins.

Scenario M2: The Peruvian-Chilean War

Peru was still sore over the loss of its coastline to Chile even 30 years later. And, with the ABC alliance being formed, Peru began to worry. If Chile wanted to attack Peru, it could easily do so, and with the aid of Brazil and Argentina, might easily over-run Peru.

Then the British offered a solution--modernise the Peruvian military, and supply them with freighters and ethership hulls in order to support the Peruvians against any Chilean aggression. Chile, of course, didn't like that...

Chile:

Blanco Encalada, Comodero, 2 x Gaviota (126 pts)

Peru:

Indepencia, Aguirre, 4 x Casma (133 pts)

Victory Conditions: The side with the most VPs wins[/b]

Re: Scenarios for some of the nations I've put up.

For the first scenario I can't see the Turks just destroying a Greek freighter out of hand.  Maybe change it so that the Turks are chasing a Greek flagged freighter they accuse of smuggling or something and the Greek Squadron has to rescue it?  I might also change the battleship VP's to player's lose VP's based on your own battleship's damage- that better reflects how each side would prize thier own battleships, I think.

The second scenario is a pretty straightforward slugfest.  Maybe remove the Aguirre and one or two of the Casma and change the scenario to the Chileans trying to destroy the Indepencia on it's post-delivery workup cruise in order to send a message.  The Peruvians just need to get the Indepencia out alive.

Why not? Can't trust those Ottomans... turn your back on 'em and they'll sweep into the back of your knees...

(See, 'cause I'm making a joke about the furniture "ottoman"... get it...?)

Seriously, these are just scenarios for the fun of it; they don't have to make historical sense, right?

I like this change, however, as it gives some tactical depth to the scenario.

Oh, I'm sure the Turks would have some reason or another.  Smuggling (what, exactly?) or suspicion of piracy, something like that.  They were always good at finding excuses for being SOBs.
