Topic: Questions concerning Hyperdrive

Hello,

I just recently purchased Starmada, The Admiralty Edition, and have a couple of questions about the correct to use Hyperdrive during a battle.

1.  When a player declares he will be warming up his Hyperdrive for a jump, does his ship continue to move at its current Thrust, or does it stop moving and stay in the same hex each turn until his total reaches 10?

2.  If the ship continues to move, can the owning player make heading changes or must the ship move straight until the ship enters hyperspace or until the player decides stop trying to enter hyperspace?

3.  Can the ship continue to fire and/or launch fighters/stikers/etc. until the owning player's total reaches 10?

The reason I ask, is because during a game the person I was playing against said in a previous game he played, his opponent attempted to engage his hyperdrive and while he was doing so, he stopped moving the ship and stopped firing.

Looking at rule pages 37 and 38, they do not mention movement, shooting, or launching fighters during hyperspace so I thought I'd ask here if there are any consensus on using hyperspace during a battle.

Thanks in advance,

RobertS

Re: Questions concerning Hyperdrive

While warming up the hyperdrive, a starship continues to operate normally.
