While I realize that there are Brits (and some other nationalities) on the forum, the forum is somewhat tilted towards Americans. Feel free to ignore us, and I'll ignore the anouncements of parlimentary elections.
You gotta understand, most Americans tend to forget that the rest of the world is on a different schedule in relation to elections, and EVERYONE that speaks english on an english-speaking forum tends to loose track of the fact that we're all not on the same continent.

I guess I'm weird, then, because I don't fit your definition of "most Americans" -- nor "EVERYONE", for that matter.
I know this forum is angled more towards Americans, which is why its so refreshing sometimes to find a fellow Brit on these forums. And I must say, I thought it pretty obvious I was British. The fact that I said as much a couple of times here, for example...:D
I don't think your nationality has been much of a secret around here... Nor do I think this forum is as American-centered as it might seem at first blush. We've got people from all over lurking in the dark corners...
And regarding "color/colour" -- the British spelling may predate the American, but since you carried the "u" over from French, I'll stick with our spelling.

Most guys I know tend to forget, I tend to forget. I *iss people off with that occasionally. Not having the person sitting in front of me speaking in an accent (it's an accent to ME, ymmv) and emoting makes it hard for me (maybe I'm funny that way) to not assume that people think like me.
Some things that I see (that tend to work out the way I see them happening) are NOT obvious to other people. I'm not claiming to be a prophet or anything, it's just that I'm more a long term thinker, and most people that disagree with me tend to think in the shorter term.
I'll also admit to a small amount of prejudice in thinking that I know the right way to do things - the problem is that the rest of the world tends not to agree....
If we all thought alike, the world would be so much more peaceful, but sure as hell much more BORING...

A person's nationality or race is not so important to me as the fact that they're a gamer. All it means in that context is the games that you've been exposed to or might talk about.
I don't wear my Irish descent on my sleeve, unless it comes up in discussion or someone tries to beat me up with it.
Or it gets you laid.

True. I don't care much about where a person is from unless they make a big deal out of it. Then I let fly...:D
Trust me, I don't fit the "normal American" either... but then again, I am actually Mohawk, and was raised on a reservation.....
As for the voting, yes I did, but I'm not truly expecting too much to change..... we'd need another revolution for that.
