Indeed. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate Christmas.
To the rest of you, happy Thursday.
I got clothes.
I got a little cash.
I'm thinking about buying my own third world country.
Ho ho ho...
But you Illinois guys can keep your damn weather.
15 degrees and 18 inches of snow here in Chicago.
I'll take the 15 degrees but no snow in Wichita.
Ho ho ho...
Santa Kev
Santa brought me an MP3 player....I was honestly shocked, as wives think that after a certain age that clothes are more important...
Sunny and upper 50's today.
Had Ham for the traditional yearly celebration of Christmas. If you don't celebrate it, you're missing something.
mmmmmmmm.....HAM!
I got three plaid hankies and a box of cookies.
Been a real tight year. :?
Have a fun one with family those that can get to 'em.
Merry Christmas!
Busy meeting with the tangled branches of four family trees, and trying to please everyone here.
I got the gift of seeing the joy on my two little girls' faces when they woke me up to tell me Santa did indeed come.
Hope everyone else had just as good a holiday.

Were there fears in the Crough household that Mr. Kringle might not appear?
Well, I went over 24 hours without logging in.
I think this is a new record for me.
I got a red scarf, Ashley's Book of Knots, a backpacking book, and a cool blue mat to sleep on in the cold boy scout campouts (the puppy pretty much chewed the edges clean off my new mat about 20 seconds after I opened it too). Plus some other miscellaneous stuff. No clothes to speak of (yay! my wife is cool).
But most importantly, I got to spend the whole day with just my family. Not my Brother-in-law or my brother, just me, the wife, and the three boys.
Damn fine Christmas, and I repeat: Peace on Earth, Good will to all.
Hey, I almost forgot, my furnace went out yesterday...called the man and had him come out for a look-see. it has a bad valve, and they can't get one 'till tomorrow. Oh well. the boys get to camp out in the living room and I get to climb into a 59° bed. It's all good tho.
Damn fine day nonetheless. Thank God I have a fireplace.

There's always a little trepidation.
Y'know, that whole checking twice of the list...naughty and nice stuff. My girls are good girls, but they are sisters and they aren't always little angels to each other.

Tell me about it -- Santa hasn't brought me anything but clothes for three straight Christmases...

Heh, that's what Paypal is for....
I also got 2 shirts, the MP3 player was on sale. It's a 4 gig generic one, not some version of "Ipod". I can transfer files onto it too.
I'm not that bothered about what I got for Christmas, as long as we had a good time. We did until yesterday...

Yeah, I learned back while I was a young man in the navy (and likely had inklings of the concept as a child, like we all did) that scoring Christmas by the number of presents sorta sucks as a barometer of Christmas Spirits...
It's all in how much everyone enjoys themselves...
We did until yesterday...
What happened yesterday? (or, in this case, four days ago?)
The traditional Christmas argument...
My mom was visiting over the holidays, my tongue is sore - as is my butt....
It seems that it's actually more tiring standing around and walking at only quarter speed (half speed if it's just the wife and I) than walking at my normal pace....
My mom was visiting over the holidays, my tongue is sore - as is my butt....
because you were bad and she spanked you?

Uhm, no...that would be from the "standing around and walking at only quarter speed" part....for in excess of 8 hours both days combined.
My empathic responses are such that I seriously doubt I could induce my mom to spank me unless i wanted her to - and I sure as hell don't swing that way.
