Topic: Movement question - Drifting ships

In the current PBEM playtest, one of my battlecruisers has lost all of it's engines. It's last movement orders were "4P".

The ADED rulebook states "a starship without engines will continue to move in the same direction and at the same speed indefinitely" (example, P17). How does this relate to my BC?

Does it:
1) Continue to move in the direction of the "4" or,
2) Continue to move "forwards" - IE the facing after the "P" turn?

Re: Movement question - Drifting ships

My guess would be that the ship would continue moving at speed four in the direction that the P turn pointed it to.  It had just turned and was moving in that direction when its engines were disabled, so it will continue to go and go and...
(a good incentive for the repair crews to begin fixing the engines pronto) :!:

It will move in the direction of its current facing. So, the answer is (2).

Re: Movement question - Drifting ships

You have to remember that this is NOT vector movement. The ships are actually moving the direction they face at the end of the turn.
