Topic: Games you love -- but you don't know why

I was thrilled the other day to receive the unpunched, near-mint copy of XTR's "Red Sky Morning" that I won on eBay. I remember buying this game back in college, and I have fond memories of it.

But for the life of me I can't remember actually playing it, or why I liked it so much.

Here's a link to a review: http://grognard.com/zines/so/so51.txt

I was just wondering if others had games like this that they remember fondly -- but don't know why...

Can't help you with this one.
Any game I've ever played and liked, I can remember why.
Now other people might not understand that "like."
But *I* do.

I "love" several games I've never played (or only played once)

Caesar's Epic Battle of Alesia (hex and chit game) for example was the very first game I'd ever played, my brother introduced me to gaming with that and the rest is history smile

Afrika Korps - played a few times with my step brother in High School. I don't know if my dad still has it at the house.

Can't say I loved it, but it got me interested in the CONCEPT of war games

Knights of Camelot counter+area movement adventure game, by TSR I think. I've been pursuing this one on ebay but don't want to pay a mint for it because... I really don't remember why I liked it so much and thus don't know if I still will smile
