Topic: Calculating Hull Volume Question

I don't understand the hull calculations numbers. The engine and shield numbers are also not understood. It appears that you multiply the hull size by 1.6 then multiply that by 100. But that can't be it. I have tried square root (out of desperation to try something) but that does not seem to work either.
I know I am missing something very obvious, and I would appreciate it if someone could point out what it is.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Calculating Hull Volume Question

The calculations involve exponents: i.e., Total Space Units is hull size raised to the 1.3 power, then multiplied by 100.
