The Defiance full version PDF troop builder grenade list has 3 (I think) frag grenades including a "wide" type which is rated at AOE 2" when I'm just CERTAIN it's meant to be 3". :wink:
Yup, we heard about that one: like you say, it should be 3", not 2".
All in all, players have only found three typos, so not too bad. :wink:
In a week or two, we'll probably post an errata.
Full version PDF, page 39, phase weapon example implies that phase weapons are also armour-piercing with regards to infantry due to their field-peircing ability; this is incorrect is it not? Phase weapons are armour-piercing with regards to infantry because they are automatically considered (V) Vehicle piercing, correct? This could be fixed by just removing the words "(field-piercing)" from the explanation that Phase weapons ignore infantry armour, or rewording to "(and is field piercing)".

Is the PDF errata being fixed "on the fly" on the POD hardcopy version, or does that need to wait for some kind of major update? Not sure how the technology works...

Dan or Demian may correct me if I am wrong, but I believe what will happen is that anyone who has bought the pdf will get a free update that will include any errata discovered to this point - I have already made the corrections to the master layout file. This updated pdf will also include player army stat sheets [working on those right now...].
I can't speak for already purchased POD copies, however...

1) are the "poi" counters on pg 246 for "point of impact" ?
2) table 2.7 (pg 102-107) shows costs for 2", 3" and 4" AoE weapons, but the
provided templates (pg 245) are marked as 1", 2" and 4". i measured
them and they are 1", 2" and 3" in radius.
3) AoE weapons can have a max ammo of 6 (pg 80), but the plasma burst
cannon (pg 189) is an AoE weapon with "un" ammo.
4) on pg 188 the fluff text for the plasma rifle/phase carbine is the same as
the trench shotgun/flamethrower.
5) on pg 206 the grav mortar's name and fluff imply an AoE, IF and Stun
weapon, but the stats don't have any of those listed.
6) on pg 127 the mp5 and m16 have exactly the same range/kill numbers.
mp5 has FR4, m16 has FR1(3). but the m16 is triple the cost of the mp5.
7) the disposable m72 "LAW" has "un" for ammo ? (pg 128).
8) the "tommy gun" has more range than the m16 (pgs 128 and 127) ?
that's all i got for now.
I also noticed the M-16 numbers seemed funny....was gonna ask about that,hehe 
The reported errors have been noted and I will try and go through and fix them this weekend. Several sound like cut and paste errors in the transition from Word doc to layout doc to final PDF.

The most current errata list is now posted as a download from the MJ12 Defiance webpage. It includes all changes that have been made since mid-March, so some of you who purchased the book later than this will notice that certain of them have already been corrected.
Many of the changes are clarfications of wording that was a bit awkward and a good amount of them relate to the combo weapons discussions that have occurred here on this forum.

A little thing I picked up yesterday that has escaped notice so far IIRC: Vobian Gatling Laser is listed as a Powered Infantry weapon although pointswise it would pass for a Standard Infantry weapon (62pv, SI limit at whopping 80pv). No harm in doing that, I suppose, but at least one SI frame (can't recall which right now and am in no position to check) has it as a weapon option. And that can't be right...

Hi Jim,
I just finished one further comb-through of the rules, scouring the army construction tables and army lists for math errors. There were a few (minor) typos and miscalculations, so I am sending Josh (the layout guy) a final errata document. Hopefully, we'll have this same doc posted to the Defiance website soon.
Dan is the man when it comes to the details about dowloading a new pdf, etc.

And my nearly computer illiterate brain just wondered--is the PDF able to be "edited" by the purchaser ? You know, the MJG-0410 document that's 33,884 KB's in size ? And if it's possible, would a nearly computer illiterate want to do that ??

I actually have a newer, corrected pdf of the book ready, but Demian just piled on another short list of errata... 
So, unless Dan wants to make my current pdf available now [Dan, I'll need your Fetch info again], y'all just have ta wait a bit longer :twisted:
