Yes, it is the Pendragon film. From the previews, I know the acting is gonna be icky, but I had hoped the SFX would be worth the viewing.

Not so, huh?

Poo.

Thanks for the warning, but I'm afraid your review has only intrigued me that much more... smile

I'm sure it will disappoint, but hopefully it'll still be worth the watch in a Plan-9-From-Outer-Space sorta way.

Re: [Slightly OT] War of the Worlds (spoilers?)

What's a martian's favorite drink?

Bloody Mary of course.  lol  *ducks the thrown rotten fruits and anvils*

The movie was intense...my g/f started freaking out from the moment the first tripod opened up until they got to their destination...

That's gonna be a LOT of reverse engineering for someone I think.  big_smile

Yup.
Eww...

Just saw this at the 'Dollar Movie', as I said I would.

Interesting modern uptake - the blood-draining thing wasn't *as* explicit as I remember from the book, as the Martians used it as nourishment, not as fertilizer....

Re: [Slightly OT] War of the Worlds (spoilers?)

Discussion about the 'period version' of WOTW IIRC...

Have you gotten to sit down and see this one Dan?

Is it really that bad? :-)

This just proves once again that if everyone were gamers the movies would be boring.  ;-)

I explained what was happening vis-a-vis the book to my son as the two of us watched it - he seemed bewildered by parts of the movie, but felt that there were plenty of things blowing up, so it was okay.
:-)

I pointed out it would be best in the river scene to have run perpendicular to the river, rather than into the obvious target zone.

Yes, most gamers are more intelligent (on average) than average. I've almost never gone down the dark stairs without a large blunt object to use....I rarely go down dark stairs. :-)

Re: [Slightly OT] War of the Worlds (spoilers?)

Awww...noone is taking it from the Martian POV.

Here they are being nice and not attacking a nice obvious escape route...

Until AFTER the lunchmeat has filled the sandwich. *insane laughter*
