Topic: Map needed!

I've been trying to find a map for ages that can help me start up a VBAM campaign. Im not too sure about how to create a random map, and Im hoping for a map thats actually on the Internet so I can show the progress of the campaign. Can anyone help me?

Re: Map needed!

I thought it would be cool to do a PBEM-VBAM game, using the latest in php technology to dynamically run the campaign.

but I'm lazy

Re: Map needed!

I was creeping around the VBAM website the other day and they have a few sample maps available for download.  Could be what you're looking for.

Re: Map needed!

How many star systems are you looking to place in the map.  If you could give me some specs, perhaps I can create a simple map for you?

Re: Map needed!

Im planning on having two/four large and some smaller empires. Thats going to be hard though.

Re: Map needed!

I got bored the other day and 'whipped' up a new way to create VBAM maps.  This is the end result.

The double circles represent an empire's homeworlds and the numbering system denotes which empire owns the system and sequential number. There are 10 empires:  4 'large' ones consisting of three 10-system and one 12-system empires and 6 'small' one consisting of four 6-system empires and two 8-system empires. All empires have jump-lanes to at least two other empires. I didn't make any differences on the jump-lanes in case you had any ideas from that.

Does this work?

Re: Map needed!

is this system automated?  IOW does the Computer map them for you?

Re: Map needed!

No, it's not automated at the moment and I don't know enough about scripting to do it myself.  Perhaps, if there is enough interest, I can call on a few friends that have the know-how and see what can be done.
