Re: SFB / FC - style SSDs for Starmada ?

Personally if there is going to be a picture of the ship on the SSD, I would prefer it to be out of the way of the data. I think that some of the official B5Warss SCSs were so jumbled up with information they were an eyesore, to the point where I started using Illustrator to remove the silhouettes so "clean up" the displays.

Fortunately, Starmada uses a lot less systems than, for example, B5 (or FC). Look at my first try, the abbai bimith. It is quite clear, isn't it?

I vastly prefer that to printing one ship (or at best 2) per sheet of paper and having to manage pages and pages of ships when playing with a squadron of 5-10 ships. In most of the tabletop games of Starmada I have played I have needed just one piece of paper for ships and another for fighter flight tracking.

Problem, whan I play, I decide which ships to take just before the game, and I don't have the leasure to print them mere minutes before playing. Thus I need ready SSDs and thus 2 ships per pages come in handy.

BTW, I tried adding colours to the B5 SSD, but the result is unstatisfying. Really not beatiful and worst, it doesn't ease the reading. I worked again at the same ships and here is the result.

I reworked a bit the fed CA SSD, adding some colours and infos.

Re: SFB / FC - style SSDs for Starmada ?

I like this kind of display, and wanted to do something similar to this for the original Grand Fleets.

I would darken the colors for both the light blue (engine) and orange (hull) sections though.
White text on a fairly light color, especially with a bunch of white space nearby, is a little hard to read.
Otherwise, I think it looks good.

Problem is, I didn't had the opportunity to print it, as I have limited access to a colour printer at work.

Cool !  Maybe we could post a library of icons to facilitate SSD-making.

I'd also looking to make some of my own SSDs but I need the weapon arc icons. If someone could help I'd be very thankful

I don't think I can, as I use a professional tool (microstation).
