Do PEN and DMG affect attacks on fighter flights
It is posted that all extra PEN or DMG is lost when hitting a fighter. You might clarify what happens when a Heavy Fighter is hit (it takes 2 hits to kill). I think that the extra PEN or DMG should kill the heavy fighter.

AFAIK, PEN and DMG do not affect fighters at all, however, I would think you could implement a house rules that says extra DMG dice cause more than one hit to aflight of heavy fighters.
I wouldn't play that way, but that's just me.
In the main rules, they can't, but if you're talking about house rules, do what you want.

I would play that way if I was at your house and you suggested that rule.

PEN and DMG are always ignored when attacking fighters, heavy or otherwise.
