Topic: KA drone question

I apologize for the simple question, but  what does "Drone Rack (4)"  like on the Klingon D7C mean?  Is the 4 the number it can launch per turn (which i dont think so because the Hull Size / Max Launch thingy says 3 would be the max launch for a hull size 10 ship.  So is it the number of drone 'ammo' onboard?  It can launch/fire only 4 for the whole battle?
A Fed light cruiser with "Drone Rack" would get 1 shot then?

Maybe i shouldnt read the rules straight-through to better understand them :-)

While i am at it, if you fire a photon torpedo in overload (which is slow firing) can you fire it in standard mode next utrn?

thanks

Re: KA drone question

Drone Rack (4) means the ship has 4 Racks (or Flights) of Drones in total for the battle. Yes, a ship having "drone Rack" only has a single Rack (or Flight) to launch.

Any Photon torpedo weapon Fired in Overload had to wait a turn.

Each number listed on the ship card is one "flight" of 4 drones -- thus, "Drones (4)" is a total of 16 individual drones, in 4 groups of 4.

No. If a weapon is fired in a mode that has the "slow" trait, it must wait a turn, even if it also has a mode that is not "slow".

thank you very much

Re: KA drone question

Right, so "Drones (X)" means "can launch up to X drone flights in total" effectively "has X shots".  And the max number per turn is limited by hull size.

Can un-launched drones be destroyed by an attack in the same way as other weapons?

No, unless you use 'critical hits' (see the rule annex).
