Topic: Seeker/Striker Thought

Ok, I was thinking about something of a hybrid between Strikers and Seekers. The idea was that the missile flight would operate as Strikers as long as they remain within 6 hexes or less from the launching/controlling vessel. Then, if the flight exceeds six hexes from the vessel at any time, it "goes active", and acts as a Seeker flight from that point on, targeting the nearest enemy vessel. As an option, the controlling player could assign a target to the flight while it is still within the 6 hex control range, and then when it moves beyond six hexes it would become a seeker and attack the assigned target. The idea is something along the idea of a command guidance missile or a wire guided torpedo. Any thoughts?

Neat idea, in the Dread Empire Series by Walter Jon Williams they use small human piloted pinnaces as guides for groups of drones. Your idea would support that concept.

That could be interesting. Maybe allow any vessel to control it, so the Dread Empire's AM missiles can be modelled. I once had an interest in trying to game in that setting, but its almost like the Honorverse in regards to the relative lengths between their ship-board weapons and the distances the missiles can travel.
