Topic: Etiquette regarding SAE--SFO conversions

Hi all.

Just a quick question regarding S:AE--S:FO conversions. I've almost ran out of my own races to convert and have started looking at other races in the Bourbaki Basin, and I've already converted the UPF vessels designed by RiflemanIII. My question is, is it okay if I post them up, or would people rather that conversions be done by their initial race designers? If it is considered okay to post them up, should I ensure people realise who the original designer is, or is it not too much of an issue?

I would ask RiflemanIII about it personally, but he hasn't appeared here for a month so I'm not sure I would get a speedy answer

I would say, ask first, and if there's no speedy reply, go ahead. Just make sure to give credit to the original designer.

Okay, will do.

Re: Etiquette regarding SAE--SFO conversions

Personally I agree, for posted stuff ask and always credit original designer.
I have a bit of a similar problem. I have done a lot of SFO conversions from the Klingon Armada etc. books and a few old starfleet battle ships, along with some house rules and I'm unsure whether to share the designs as they might be seen as breaching copyright and I would not wish to get Dan in trouble with ADB. However I have a campaign I am setting up which I want to post but without the converted ships its a bit pointless.
Rather than just post all the conversions would it be acceptable just to post those require for the campaign (its set on the Gorn/Romulan/Federation Border).
