Topic: Firing Arcs and Weapon SU cost clarification

I've been constructing ships using the rules in SAE, and was wondering if I could get a clarification on one of the formulas.
In the weapon stat section on page 29, the formula for finding the total SU cost of a battery indicates that you should multiply the base weapon SU cost by the sum of the number of weapons plus the total number of arcs.
My question is, if a battery contains only a single weapon, and that weapon only fires in a single arc, is the SU cost essentially twice the base SU cost? Does a weapon's base SU cost not include by default a single arc? If so, should the formula for figuring total battery SU cost be changed to Base SU cost x [# of weapons x (# of arcs - # of weapons)]?
Thanks for your time.

Re: Firing Arcs and Weapon SU cost clarification

A single weapon firing into a single arc takes up twice the "Base SUs". (1+1 = 2)
