Topic: Drones seekers and tractor beams

Drones can be fired at as well as seekers. But tractor beam may only fire at seekers. It result in weird things as seekers may be the plasma torps of SFU. But in SFU, tractor has no effect on plasma but may kill drones. Here, it's the opposite.
Btw, it seems that drones has no time limit.

Drones do not have a time limit, they have a designated target on launch which they must try to attack like seekers, like "single minded" fighters. They can be attacked on route and are lost if the designated target no longer exists.

Fighters do not have endurance figures either.

And, what about the relation between tractor beams and drones and seekers?

What about it?

When doing the conversion to the SFU (or any other setting), there's no reason the targeting restrictions for tractor beams couldn't be modified to fit the source material.

Hmm, ok. It would be funny to see tractor unable to stop drones but able to reduce plasma.  wink

Just like it would be funny to damage a plasma with a photon torp.   I think the generic rules are quite good as is, and definitely any universe specific stuff can be built into a particular supplement.

Re: Drones seekers and tractor beams

I'm just a bit suprised that as there are items coming directly from SFU (shuttlecraft, probes, etc.), those items works not exactly as they were designed in SAE.
Other than that, no problem with me. Drones racks can become seekers in SNE and not drones, it's ok with me.

While it's true the immediate cause of their inclusion in Nova was the recent SFU conversions, it should be pointed out that shuttles and probes exist in other settings, as well... smile
