Re: Proposed changes for version 1.1
Download file updated to version 1.1.
Will this be propagated to Wargame Vault at some point? I tried re-downloading my copy, but it's still 1.0.

I added the updated version to RPGNow/Wargame Vault at the same time I updated the one on our site. I'll check it again.
It's not showing up in my "updated since last download" list, and when I go to the product and re-download it manually, I get a different file name ("Starmada_Nova_Rulebook.pdf" instead of "mjg0130.pdf"), but the banner at the bottom of the page when I open the file still says "Version 1.0 - April 2012".
I uploaded the 1.1 file yesterday (again?). The filename is mjg0130_v1_1.zip.

I bought my copy directly from you guys. Can I somehow obtain the 1.1 version without having to shell out for a new copy?

Yup.
You can download the updated file by using the login/password provided when you purchased the pre-order version.
I purchased Starmada Nova directly from the mj12games site as well. I opened the email containing the original file link and login/password, however it only allows me access to the original 1.0 version. Is there another link somewhere that I need to use to access the newer 1.1 version?

No, the existing link should point you to the mjg0130.zip file, which has been updated with v1.1. Maybe you need to clear your browser cache?
Excuse me, but where do I find the link leading to the new version, as I've already ordered a copy and downloaded the first version?

It's the same link as provided in your purchase confirmation email.
Ok, thanks a lot.
Marc
It worked fine!
I noted quickly that the ships at the end of the book were modified.

I'm not sure what's going on. WGV correctly identified mjg0130.pdf as having had an update on the 19th, but the file I got when I downloaded it again was "Starmada_Nova_Rulebook.pdf", with a file size of 16940254, exactly the same as the 1.0 version. And no diffs show up when I diff it. It's re-watermarking it for me each time I download, so it shouldn't be a stale cache issue; I'll try one more time with the cache cleared.
No dice. Clearing the cache doesn't work, nor does downloading on a completely different computer with a different browser. The watermarking process is suspiciously fast; I wonder if there could be caching happening on their end.
So, when you download from WGV, you're getting a PDF, or a ZIP file?
I get a PDF, unless I'm downloading everything in an order with multiple products. I bought Nova by itself.
That should not be happening... What I'm uploading to WGV is a ZIP file.
Could Piercing be added to the list of fighter traits? It would make them much mre effective against Sields3+.
How about ripping off the 'Long Shot' rule and say that fighter flights have a -2 to attack but, if they hit, their shot gets piercing? Not sure if that makes sense or if its balanced, but it could work.../shrugs
Dan,
Sorry to be a pest but the newly updated file I am downloading from RPGNow still says v1.0 on the title page. The name of the file is Starmada_Nova_Rulebook.pdf.
Ken
The name of the file is Starmada_Nova_Rulebook.pdf.
Considering that is NOT the name I gave the file when it was uploaded, this confuses me greatly...
I will look into it.
For clarification sake, is it possible, in the sequence of play, to specify that ships and fighters are moving during two separate movement 'subphases'?
I would like to suggest a new weapon trait (a real one ). I feel that Cts is much too powerful for some of my needs. I would like a trait that acts as a semi-Cts, where for each hit you roll 1D6/3 (FRU).
Marc
If possible, can you add two new firearcs, combining FF and AP, and FF and AS, please?
Marc
(final plug) ...and piercing as a fighter trait for fighters... :geek:
Surely a house rule, but why not propose it: Thrust damage due to Emergency thrust should be random (for example 1-3 on 1D6) and not automatic.
