Topic: Micro-ships
Yesterday, while having some creative energy that needed to be burnt off, I remembered one of the failed attempts to do a setting. It was based around the 'fighters as seeker weapons' idea, but an attempt to create a large setting didn't get off the ground.
With that in mind, I designed a couple of weapons, then a couple of ships, and here is the finished result: four warships and one freighter, the most expensive warship being 82 points, so a 'fleet action' could be done for 500 points.
Shuttlecraft represent gunboats in this setting--larger and more potent fighters, IOW.
Tractor beams represent anti-fighter weapons. As I purposely designed the standard weapons to be useless at point defence, they're the only defence against fighters you have--well, except for fighters in 'intercept' mode (Mode 2, IOW)
