Topic: New weapon ability

I was thinking, as I sometimes do, about starmada weapon abilities. Mainly, I was thinking about electronic warfare.

What would be the cost of a weapon ability that ignored ALL forms of electronic warfare? This means ECM, Stealth, LRS and EWS. Essentially, it would be a weapon too stupid to confuse, or a weapon so advanced that it uses an on-board computer to calculate attack vectors and the like.

I would start at a multiplier of x3.

That would account for the most expensive of the equipment it counteracts (Stealth Gen = x2.5), plus a little extra for the others.

How would a weapon counter EWS or LRS both of which affect firing weapons rather than represent any sort of defense?

Good point. I believe the proposed enhancement would only affect ECM and Stealth.

And since we have EWS which effectively cancels ECM already, perhaps we should simply state that this new ability only counteracts Stealth?

But, LRS and Stealth sort of counter each other now...

In the Compendium, there is the stingray missile that ignores all to-hit factors. I was wondering how you could calculate such a weapon in Starmada X terms.

Speaking of new weapon abilities, what would be a good starting point for pricing a weapon that gets to shoot during the fighter phase?

BeowulfJB asked about the Stingray missile a short while ago.

StarmadaX v1.0 gave the conversion for the Stingray Missile as:-
ROF1 PEN1 DMG1 No Range Modifiers.

I think that adding Ignores Shields would go some way to a better costing, as there is no "Totally ignorant" costing for weapons.

Or give it a new Ability, AI missile with a x3 Mod as suggested above.
Then again, it may decide that it just does not want to be launched if it is going to be destroyed.

Any thoughts on my suggestion for changing the AF Batteries (see Fighters thread), if acceptable, these would probably need an increased cost.
