Topic: Starmada movement question.

I come from playing Starfleet Battles years ago and so I wanted to try something new. I went for Starmada and I would like to know if I am understanding the rules for movement correctly, for example: moving straight ahead only from stop, my speed is 0 + thrust rating of 6 = moving 6 hexes. Next move, my speed is 6 + thrust rating of 6 = moving 12 hexes. Next move, my speed is 12 + thrust rating of 6 = moving 18 hexes and so on. Is there a max speed that a ship has or can it just keep going on?

Thanks for any help.

Re: Starmada movement question.

Under the normal Nova rules, nope, no limit on maximum speed. You can keep on accelerating, and accelerating, and accelerating... Every turn you can make a "Straight Ahead" maneuver and keep on accelerating.

However, if you want to make a "Come About" maneuver (turn), the maximum speed you can go is your Thrust rating. So if your current speed is above your Thrust rating, you can't turn until you slow down. The "Reverse Course" maeuver is a little trickier - the maximum speed you can go is your Thrust rating minus your previous turn's speed.
