Topic: drydock and aux systems

Hi

How do I add aux systems to a ship, I've tried a few combinations that seemed reasonable and none seem to work.

Can it handle systems that are not noted in the book - I'm wanting to add a Hangar (not for fighters) using the aux system concept.

Re: drydock and aux systems

I'm not sure of the question: auxiliary systems, as noted in the rulebook, have no direct impact on the game. They are meant to simulate "meta" systems, and as such, only become useful or important in campaigns. At the moment there are no official rules for them, which means 100 SUs of "repair" space may mean something completely different in your campaign than in someone else's.

So, I cannot tell what you mean when you say "combinations that seemed reasonable [but don't] seem to work."

Further, if you want to add "hangar" space as an auxiliary system, go right ahead! Find a number that works for you and go with it.

Re: drydock and aux systems

I realise it means nothing per se to the ship designer. However, that is beside the point. The drydock is just there to cost the units and print them out, and aux systems are all the same from that point of view.

What I couldn't work out is how to get the drydock to recognise the extra aux systems? what is the syntax.

Re: drydock and aux systems

I understand. You are attempting to add "new" auxiliary systems to a design while using the Drydock.

This is currently not possible. I suggest using one of the existing systems as a placeholder; you can then download the resulting page and edit the HTML to read as desired.
