Topic: Have deleted SAE supplements

Just to let those of you interested that I have deleted my SAE supplements. Every time I do conversions to SNE I find that there is some errors in almost all of them, and I keep on forgetting if they're new errors or ones I've already corrected. :?

I will be trying to re-release them with corrected stats over the next few months. In the meantime, seeing as they're riddled with errors, feel free to delete your copies... smile

Re: Have deleted SAE supplements

I hope that it was not my fault that you have decided to do this.
I have only done a few supplements and know how long it takes, although with me it is sketching and drawing the ships that takes the most time

Re: Have deleted SAE supplements

No, its not your fault. Its my own fault--the way I wrote out ships (copy-pasting previous ships and then altering the relevant information) in the SAE settings was intended to reduce the actual time taken to type them out, but every so often, primarily because my attention wandered, errors crept in. The overall ratio of ships with errors to total number of ships was likely low, but being a perfectionist made it difficult for me every time I saw I'd made an error. The latest one in the Interregnum supplement was just the proverbial straw.

I've also been suffering from the supplement designer's equivalent of writers block--over the last few weeks I've had a few half-formed ideas separated by long periods of time looking blankly into space. In a few days/weeks/months I might be able to produce a decent amount of new supplements, but ATM...nothing... sad

Re: Have deleted SAE supplements

As a follow-up, I have got rid of all SAE--SNE conversions because I found yet more errata, this time on my original pen and paper designs. Rather than do yet another round of errata, I've decided to get rid. I would advise all of you to do the same--delete the supplements. I am planning on re-doing the SAE and SNE supplements, this time double-checking when I write up the supplements. Before that, however, I'm going to take a small break--my mental cycle has definitely gone into the down side, so to speak, and these errors have just compounded that.

Re: Have deleted SAE supplements

After a bit of thinking, I'm going to be doing what I was tempted to do initially--re-do my supplements as S:NE originals, rather than do conversions of the SAE ones. I won't be re-releasing the SAE supplements, though.

The reason for this is I found two errors in the Warring Triumvirate: the Nhilka's lance cannons were allocated 162 SUs (which is 6 times the light lance cannon's SUs of 27) but for some reason I wrote it up, and kept writing it up, as [A] [B] arcs, which was only 4 times the LLC's SUs. The second was the incorrect SU costing of the Olhaz plasma repeater, when for some reason I divided the SU cost by 3 (for an ACC of 3+), but listed it as 4+. The realisation of those two errors, in quick succession, just got to me a bit, especially as I realised I'd have to re-write everything...again...

Re: Have deleted SAE supplements

Have to say I'm deeply disappointed. I was hoping to acquire the SAE versions of your supplements when I recently got into Starmada, only to find them already deleted.

I'm completely uninterested in Nova edition, so I'm hoping I can persuade you to at least repost the Admiralty versions....
