...pique anyone's interest?

Color my interest radar engaged...
Looks like a hit chart of some type - fill us in while my mind recharges it's creative energies....
Rendering all these IS ships has sorta left me drained - especially with the kids home on Spring Break....bleah.
Kids suck up ENERGY...
Makes me think of baseball.
SO- Strike out
GO- Ground out
FO- Foul out
etc...
no
Dan,
You have a few baseball fans out here . I would be happy to discuss and/or playtest for ya.

Looks interesting. What will your game offer that Baseball Guru's doesn't? See http://baseballguru.com/bbboardgame.html

Well, the "hook" was going to be that I now have the capability of churning out player cards in relatively short order for any player in any era... and all the stats would be "normalized" so that the average for any given year would be the same as the average for the period 2001-2005.
As an example, Babe Ruth in 1921 had an actual SLG of .846 -- after doing all the math, in this game Ruth would have a SLG of 1.044! And he would hit roughly 75 home runs...
In addition, the fielding skill of each individual player will come into effect, rather than using just an aggragate of the whole team (or not at all) as all other games I've played have done.
Finally, it's my game... so that makes it different...
Here is Ruth's card for 1921, BTW...

And for comparison's sake, here's a pitcher card:

okay, now that DOES piquet my interest!
I do like the top half bottom half thing.
How will these stats work for something like, say, DODGEBALL!
Count me in!
how does fielding work?
I'm putting together a playtest pack, and I was just wondering what teams y'all would like to see?
Seattle Flound...eerrr....Mariners of course.
(It's a PNW thing)

I was thinking along the lines of "Chicago White Sox 2005"... since this game is supposed to span the decades, I need samples from different years.

I'm not big up on sports (ducks!) But the Ken Griffey Jr. years for the Mariners were probably the best...1995 I think....if'n that's what you be bein after boss.

Huh. They won 90 games in '97, so that would probably be a better choice.

I TOLD you I wasn't up on sports stuff...*chuckles* But yeah...I agree.
Let's play the black sox years (duck)
1976 Cincinnati Reds. Go Big Red Machine!
80's Cardinals!
Though the last few years have been great too!
Or the late 60's would be fun. I'd love to get Gibson on the mound again.
I'd say to go with any year pre-steroid controversy! *ducks*
No, I'm not a big fan of baseball, but I am a big fan of MJ12 games!

My favorites would be the Pittsburg Pirates from the late 80's or late 70's. Oh, and maybe 1997 Cleveland Indians .
Well, using an interesting approach published in the Baseball Prospectus (http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=169) I've determined the "best" teams in each franchise's history:
2001 Arizona Diamondbacks
1958 Atlanta Braves
1966 Baltimore Orioles
1986 Boston Red Sox
1984 Chicago Cubs
1916 Chicago White Sox
1975 Cincinnati Reds
1995 Cleveland Indians
1996 Colorado Rockies
1984 Detroit Tigers
1997 Florida Marlins
1983 Houston Astros
1989 Kansas City Royals
1986 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
1955 Los Angeles Dodgers
1982 Milwaukee Brewers
1945 Minnesota Twins
1986 New York Mets
1941 New York Yankees
1990 Oakland Athletics
1915 Philadelphia Phillies
1902 Pittsburgh Pirates
1984 San Diego Padres
1959 San Francisco Giants
2001 Seattle Mariners
1968 St. Louis Cardinals
2000 Tampa Bay Devil Rays
1974 Texas Rangers
1993 Toronto Blue Jays
1994 Washington Nationals
Thoughts?
Heh....I was born in '58.
Go BRAVES!
..even though my "home team" is the Rangers...
