Topic: What about this?

I have got lots and lots of half-finished ideas, but am finding it difficult to get any of them completed. So, putting a few of 'em out there in the hopes of inspiration.

Does this get anyone drooling?

Re: What about this?

Yup...definitely is some interest.  Reminds me of Mustangs!. smile

Re: What about this?

I like it! except why are there only three boxes in a set?

It looks like it should be

OOOOO OO

right?

Re: What about this?

No. Clearly it should be:

OO OO OO O

Because only three of the boxes fit in each of the Excel cells I'm using to format the card.

I don't have a silhouette for the Alcione yet.

He's lyin Jim.  He already shot it down.  tongue

Ever notice how much the WWII nation markings resembled bullseyes and crosshairs?   8)

Re: What about this?

It looks very starmada-esque and I really like simplistic fighter rules!  You ever thought of make it for space fighters, buying some of studio bergstrom miniatures and doing a Death Star attack!

Awesome Idea.

Re: What about this?

Ohh! pretty me like.

I am guessing that the data line is

Min. speed (stall?)
Climbing speed (in one turn?)
Level speed (max)
Dice speed (Max)
Turn min distance straight before turn?
Alt. (Max Alt)

Re: What about this?

Here's my take:

Min. speed <- Min # of hexes the plane must move
Climbing speed <-max # of hexes when the plane adds one altitude level
Level speed <-max # of hexes when the plane stays at the same alt. level
Dive speed <-max # of hexes when the plane loses 1 alt. level
Turn min <- # of hexes straight between turns
Alt. <- Max Alt of the plane

You are correct, sir! Gold star for you.

However, there's more to the turn rating than just a minimum move... if there is indeed interest in this one, I will try to get a playtest pack out ASAP.

Re: What about this?

See Space Combat:

Granted it needs a little work since 3D space would be 'crazy talk', but I like it!

Re: What about this?

Be very interested in a PTP Dan.   smile

You DO know that I'm gonna HAVE to do an adaptation for Renegade Legions Fighters now...

Bren...3D space wouldn't be that difficult an adaptation....or shouldn't be.  It's just a bit more math.  Might be able to do it with a simple underlay stat sheet. (thinking out loud)

Wait until the WW2 version is finished, will ya? smile

Not sure why it would need any changes from the air version -- although the difference between climb and dive speeds would need to go away...

Awww...do I HAVE to wait? *chuckles* wink

Well, I was thinking 3D...with the hypotneuse of the angle length for ranges and yaw and pitch...and I shouldn't think so much when I'm half asleep on my feet eh?   lol
