Topic: Scratchbuilt Mini's stats
Well, here's the Starmada stats for all the ships in my scratch-built fleet. I haven't figured out class names or nationality/ race yet either. The floor is open to suggestions.
Tech Levels: all at 0
Corvette (73)
Hull Size: 2 1
Engines: 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
Shields: 0
[a] Light Proton Cannon [4/8/12, 4+, 1/ 1/ 1, range based PEN]
ABCEF ABDEF
[b ] Cobalt Torpedo [3/6/9, 3+, 1/ 1/ 3, expendable, variable PEN, increased DMG]
AB
Hyper drive [O], Armor Plating, Point Defense System [O], Long Range Sensors [O], Sunbursts [OOOOO]
1 [HEQ], 2 [2EQ], 3 [HEQ], 4 [2Ea], 5 [HEa], 6 [2Eb]
Designed for fast, raking attacks the corvette is the fastest non-fighter in the fleet. Generally deployed in 3-5 ship squadrons, it can make a single torpedo run against enemy warships or act as a flanking/ screening element as needed.
Frigate (92)
Hull Size: 3 2 1
Engines: 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
Shields: 0
[a] Light Proton Cannon [4/8/12, 4+, 1/ 1/ 1, range based PEN]
ABCDEF
[b ] Cobalt Torpedo [3/6/9, 3+, 1/ 1/ 3, expendable, variable PEN, increased DMG]
AB AB AB AB
Hyper drive [O], Armor Plating, Point Defense System [O], Long Range Sensors [O], Decoy [O]
1 [HEb], 2 [2Eb], 3 [HE], 4 [EQ], 5 [HQ], 6 [Ea]
While not as fast as the corvette, the frigate is geared more towards a support role within the fleet. Carrying in a respectable torpedo load the frigate is capable of multiple torpedo runs or a single devastating strike against enemy warships. Once the torpedoes have been expended, the frigate withdraws to act as a screening element for other ships within its fleet.
Destroyer (134)
Hull Size: 4 3 2 1
Engines: 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
Shields: 0
[a] Light Proton Cannon [4/8/12, 4+, 1/ 1/ 1, range based PEN]

1 [HEb], 2 [EQ], 3 [HQ], 4 [EQ], 5 [Ha], 6 [Ea]
The destroyer is fast and well armed for its small size. Capable of engaging other ships in a sustained fight, making a fast strike with its spinal mount, or even a heavy torpedo run, this ship fills its role of a light strike craft perfectly. In peacetime, it may be found escorting freighter convoys through risky areas or on picket duty in some system where a watchful eye is required.
Light Cruiser (255)

The Light Cruiser serves a variety of roles within the fleet. To the amazement of the admiralty it does each of them well. Faster than the destroyer, it can act as a mine layer or mine sweeper, serve as an exploration vessel, and act as a screening and support ship in combat. It is also a prime anti-piracy and patrol vessel.
Escort Cruiser (450)

The Escort Cruiser was designed to serve as a convoy escort to be deployed singly or in pairs. It also acts as part of a capitol ship screening element when in combat. It's primary prey are fast attack ships, destroyers, and fighters. The design is adequate for the needs of the fleet but has no outstanding successes. BuShips is currently examining several newer designs to replace this class as they are decommissioned.
Heavy Cruiser (293)
Hull Size: 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1

A solid combatant, this class is being considered for a refit never-the-less. Fast for its size, critics of its design argue for smaller engines and more weapons. Others argue that for a main combatant, consideration should be given to the new experimental shield technology being developed. So far these issues have remained locked up in discussion.

Probably the biggest disappointment in the fleet, the battle cruiser was designed as a fast, stop-gap ship almost 150-years ago. At the time, her powerful cannon and size enabled ships of the class to turn the tide of the war in their favor. Today, the class is under-gunned and lacking in the defenses department when matched against enemy vessels of the same size. Numerous refits have extended the service life of the class, but in all likelihood a newer vessel will be under construction within the next 5 years.

This class has proven extremely successful during combat operations. Its numerous weapon batteries and drones quickly finish off enemy vessels crippled by its twin spinal mounts. Not as fast as the smaller vessels of the fleet, it is perhaps one of the most dangerous.

The dreadnought is well armed for its size yet again suffers from a mediocre performance when faced with more modern vessels. Rumors in BuShips talk about a possible refit in the works but no details as yet.
The ship is built to project as much firepower as possible into the face of the enemy and depends heavily on smaller ships to provide a defensive screen while it closes. Once it has closed to decisive range, there is little hope of survival for its target.
Super Dreadnought (586)

The super dreadnought is the second largest ship in the fleet and the most over-gunned as a result of political dictates regarding design philosophy. Capable of boiling off whole planets, the ship suffers in the ability to defend itself from smaller and more capable vessels. As a result, like the dreadnought, it depends heavily upon a defensive screen provided by the smaller ships of the fleet. BuPers is already drafting up plans to refit the existing hulls with a more balanced weapons mix.

This ship is slightly larger than a dreadnought and carries enough firepower to make battleships tread cautiously when engaging. A fighter bay is located to both port and starboard for launching and recovering the 6 squadrons carried aboard. A healthy complement of torpedoes and marines provide added combat flexibility to this class. What the light carrier cannot outfight, it can, in most cases, outrun with its speed.

The largest ship in the fleet and the preferred flagship of most serving admirals during war, the fleet carrier carries an impressive amount of firepower. Solid defenses and 12 fighter and bomber squadrons enable this class to survive most of what it encounters. Only a few of these mammoth vessels serve within the fleet and are considered a prestige assignment.</r>
