Re: Army List

I can't comment on the army list itself, but I am flattered that you tried to re-create my graphic design style from the rulebook. What did you use to make all the army stat boxes?

Re: Army List

The Beta customiser spreadsheet is designed to produce a similar output. That was my start point. I then modded it by adding lines and tidying it up so that all the information was there in a similar fashion the the main rulebook. Once the information was filled in in XL I cust and paste special (as graphic enhanced metafile) into Word and used the simple Word tools for layout.

Re: Army List

Well, it's an interesting list once again. It's nice to see Defiance used for other genres than the default "hardish" science fiction.

However there are two points I'd like to call your attention to that I noticed at a glance:

[*]The hero costs are again overtly widely available, which again may be due to frames missing from this version[*]The unit augmentations should be declared per frame. Cf. the "official" force lists. I'm not 100% certain if each augmentation is supposed to be unique per force list, but what I'm fairly sure of is that if you give a Honed Blade (for example) aug to two frames, you should count it as two augmentations against the total number of augmentations allowed. It's difficult to keep count if the standard notation is not adhered to

Thanks for the feedback

Yep an error the artillery should not have a hero cost.... that would make it 3 out of 6 frames and legal.

I had not realised the per unit for augmentations... so if the honed blade is used by 3 then that is 3 of the 12.... interesting interpretation i will have to re-read it as i did not reach that conclusion.

Yup, unit augmentations count on a "per unit" basis.  They are meant to represent the fact that you can buff up a unit if you want to, but don't have to.  There are HTH augmentations for individuals that would allow any hero or officer to use them.

If you want units with better HTH, it's typically easier and sometimes even cheaper to just pay for a higher HTH rating in the troop builder.

Re: Army List

Great, that's all I needed, another excuse to give London War Room all my money.  smile  Nifty list, though.  Have you tried an all-Cephalid army yet?  Or incorporating the airships?
